We got 6 votes in the other poll in "others receiving votes"

Probably premature, but- to get the access bowl slot, this is our best bet:
#16 Memphis
1. Navy def. Memphis
2. Houston def. Memphis
Memphis finishes at 10-2

#18 Houston
1. Cincy def. Houston
2. Navy def. Houston
Houston finishes at 10-2

#20 Toledo
1. NIU def. Toledo
2. Bowling Green def. Toledo
Toledo finishes at 10-2

#21 Temple
1. Notre Dame def. Temple
2. Memphis def. Temple
Temple finishes at 10-2

Navy is the longest shot in this scenario. They would need to lose to USF, SMU, Tulsa, or Army.

I wouldn't count on those scenarios taking place. On top of that, it still might be enough. And as you say, it is very premature, as first and foremost, we need to take care of business.

i wouldn't expect any love from the Coaches poll. They tend to stick with who they are familiar with. AP has more clout, i think

I see a big reason. The Sun Belt's well deserved reputation this year. I think we crack the top 25 if we win out. But anything less than 11-1 won't do it.

Dabo may start throwing us some love out of need. Right now we are arguably their 2nd best win of the season.

That's great to see we are finally getting some recognition. On the bright side, nobody from C-USA is ranked, the downside is that our conference is abysmal (it says a lot that Idaho and Georgia State are sitting 4th and 5th in the standings respectively)

Either way, I'll take it. Just keep winning and the rewards will begin to show. In my opinion, it'll probably involve us having to win out and then winning a bowl game to get the proper attention we deserve, but at this point in the season I don't see that as an unrealistic expectation.

There seems to be much happiness over a few votes. As a reminder, GaSo was 33rd (or so) before last Thursday. Assuming that we'll win out now is far from a foregone conclusion. I like the optimism though.

But a comfortable win over arguably the number three team in the conference would be a nice win and we would be 8-1

I hate when one of us likes to speculate a big what if and somebody throws the old "gotta win next game first" on it. Obviously! Geez this is just fun talk! Uncharted territory for us.

Georgia Southern did not receive any votes in either poll last week.

This is a big deal precisely because the Sun Belt is weak. We aren't going to have any big headline-grabbing wins to vault us into the polls, so our path to a potential ranking is to keep chugging along and winning while teams ahead of us lose.

To move up, we first had to get on the radar. Now we're there. Every week we keep winning, we'll likely keep moving up as teams ahead of us lose (and they will).

In terms of the end-of-year poll, I agree that nothing less than 12-1 will get us there. But by getting votes this early, we have a chance to be ranked well before the end of the year.

Yeah but to be considered 33rd out of what 128? I think that is good stuff.

Looking at the polls, Notre Dame and us are the only 2 opponents Clemson has played that are currently listed. With GT's win over Florida State yesterday, the ACC is proving mediocre again. For Clemson to stay solidly in the top 4/playoff, a ranked App certainly wouldn't hurt. I remember last year there was a lot of horse-trading going on when the playoff seeding polls started coming out and it just got more over the top the later in the season it got.

So no, I am not high.

Oh alright if your best win is based off top 25/top 25 votes then I see your point.

Clemson might be the best team in the country. Depth and solid both sides of the ball.
