Re: Playing WF Is A Possibility Again
You must have a reading problem. I've never said that. What I have said is that Wake's AD, when they stopped playing us, said that it wasn't because we were FCS. They continued to play FCS schools but not us.BeauFoster wrote:We've been told constantly that WFU won't play us by Cline.
I have said that they have no incentive in coming to Boone as opposed to having the games in Groves.

Re: Playing WF Is A Possibility Again
Another misquote. You and Beau have something in common. I have said that ECU will not be coming to Boone now just because we have gone FBS. It will be quite a while before we can make it worth their while with us only having room for 30K attendance.ASU-FTW wrote:Throw in ECU while you're at it - "these teams will never come to Boone!".BeauFoster wrote:We've been told constantly that WFU won't play us by Cline.
While the article doesn't explicitly say the Wake AD is open to arranging home and homes with us, the fact that he is open to playing us is encouraging and could eventually lead to such a scenario, or maybe a 2 for 1 at the worst.

No I'm pretty sure you said App could never get a BCS (or AQ conference) opponent to play us in Boone. To which I responded we would be the only FBS program to not do so.

Never said it about Wake and ECU and that is our discussion. I don't discuss BCS as a group, so I don't see why I would have said anything about them.Saint3333 wrote:No I'm pretty sure you said App could never get a BCS (or AQ conference) opponent to play us in Boone. Wake is an ACC school, therefore you fail. Or did you forget they appeared in a BCS bowl?JCline0429 wrote:Never said it about Wake and ECU and that is our discussion. Which I never denied. You guys should have taken "Developmental Reading" at ASU. I didn't say never. No one can project what 20 years may hold.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but Marshall does not have a habit of scheduling Sun Belt schools. And I don't see that changing just for Appy or GA southern.luvyosef wrote:I want to see App vs Marshall as many times as we can schedule it.
In a year Marshall will be in a conference with Charlotte and playing there every other year. There would be no reason or benefit for the Herd to schedule a series with Appy. It's not new territory, not new recruiting grounds and from a business stand point Appy just makes no sense in scheduling.

We'll just schedule the next CUSA on the list no biggie. Perhaps WKU or MTSU would like a home and home.

Re: Playing WF Is A Possibility Again
This is the problem with football these days. People want to schedule based off the "benefits" in recruiting and such instead of looking for good games that fans care about. I still believe the schools will play at some point.HerdFan12 wrote:I hate to sound like a broken record, but Marshall does not have a habit of scheduling Sun Belt schools. Agreed. I haven't heard much about Marsha since Randy Moss left.

Re: Playing WF Is A Possibility Again
If our attendance sucked like yours does, I believe I would consider scheduling a game which would bring in fans from the opposing team. Your attendance was down another 4% last year. Maybe we could generate a little excitement for you, since that seems to be in short supply up there, as well:HerdFan12 wrote:I hate to sound like a broken record, but Marshall does not have a habit of scheduling Sun Belt schools.
