If it is who I think, the recruit also holds a Big Ten offer, two CUSA offers, and two Sun Belt offers.

The commit is TE/DL Brandon Walton (6′ 5.5″ 235) of Carrollton High School in Carrollton, GA.
I had a page already up for him and will be moving him to the commit list on the master page in a few minutes. He held reported offers from UNCC, Ga.St, Illinois, Mercer, WCU, and WKU.

Nice job, Firemoose. You seem to do an amazing job of anticipating our future commits.

Now THAT's a nice pick up! If we can hold on to him.....firemoose wrote:The commit is TE/DL Brandon Walton (6′ 5.5″ 235) of Carrollton High School in Carrollton, GA.

He's the one. Rated the #9 TE at the Rivals camp back in May. #8 and #10 signed with BCS programs. This guys looks like a steal.GreatAppSt wrote:Really? :shock:Saint3333 wrote:If it is who I think, the recruit also holds a Big Ten offer, two CUSA offers, and two Sun Belt offers.

Any news on Duckworth? I would really like to see us get this guy. He reminds me of John Settle.

QB Emiere Scaife (6′ 2″ 200) of Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, NC has decommitted from Georgia State and committed to App. I'll have a little more info in a few minutes.

Re: Recruiting, 2014 (temporary)
As I stated above QB Emiere Scaife (6′ 2″ 200) of Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, NC …has de-committed from Georgia State and committed to App State. He had reported offers from Ga.St, Marshall, Gardner-Webb, NC A&T, and Winston Salem State. He committed to Ga. State on June 26th and we offered him on the 27th. I posted that he had decided to come for a visit today. I have had a player page up for him with video since the offer and it's now been moved to the Commits section of the main page.
After seeing some posts earlier I decided to take another look at the video. Other than being left handed he reminds me a bit of another #12 we have. QB competition might just be getting a little harder.
Also as an FYI I have seen three tweets today stating that our #1 QB target on the board, QB JP Caruso (6′ 1″ 195) of Palm Beach Gardens High School in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl will be making a decision this week. Indications from twitter are it's down to App, FAU, and Air Force but that's unconfirmed. We'll see.

Re: Recruiting, 2014 (temporary)
Next....Rivals 3 star WR Jaylan Barbour (5′ 10″ 170) of Monroe High School in Monroe, NC just tweeted the post below. Love to see posts like that. He currently holds reported additional offers from UNCC, Duke, ECU, UNC, NC State, USC (East), and WVU.

Appalachian State facilities are A1! Pretty nice trip..
Up against some pretty stiff competition with offers like that but that's why I build the pages, just in case.

I found this tweet from the Ga State 247 guy quite humorous

Re: Recruiting, 2014 (temporary)
lol In his defense, Ryan is a good guy. App State and Georgia State recruit a lot of the same players and we have a great relationship of trading prospect updates and contact information as we get it. Same goes with the ECU and UNC 247 sites.

Appstate_SunBelt wrote:This is my first post here but I am a pro FBS fan and this is one of many reasons why. We are going to have Marshall, ECU, Charlotte, WFU, etc. coming to Boone, we are already getting commits whereas in FCS we would have zero right now (5 already), and increased exposure. This is the first of many things to come that will prove FBS is the right move, as long as we spend our money wisely and don't price gauge the fans. It's good to see what many thought before in that players would jump on an App offer sooner if we were just FBS. It's happening now and that's good to see.Yosef84 wrote:Thank you, Firemoose! Very well said. It is VERY early in the game. In previous years, we have shown ZERO activity at this point. We have as many verbals right now as we have usually had in November (yes, it's a "guesstimate"). Maybe part of it is the great job being done by Firemoose and others in getting this information posted on MMB. I don't remember EVER having this amount of information about recruiting and that includes the time I was subscribed to Mountaineer Illustrated.
I don't claim to be an expert, and I can't say with authority that we're exactly where we want to be, but from my perspective, it feels good and I'm enjoying the ride.
What makes you so sure that ECU and Wake will be coming to Boone?
