We have all watched and attended games that were basically over at the half- some sooner than that. Fans like to see the backups play significant minutes sometimes so we can all get an idea of what the future might be. While there isn't a need to run reverses and 50 yard bombs when up 4 or more scores I hate when the 2nd and 3rd stringers aren't allowed to really do anything. Those up the gut runs to take it easy on the opponent get boring and ridiculous. What's the point in letting guys play and completely call off the dogs? That 3rd quarter of the Citadel game was a brutal watch- we ran what, 1 offensive play? I get that they are a running team and the outcome had been decided early but they made zero effort to win.

A team that's up 4 or more touchdowns shouldn't leave their starters in. However, if my team's 3rd stringers are still scoring at will against your guys, well, that's on you buddy. Play better defense.

I'd make that number closer to 5 touchdowns. A 3.5 touchdown lead has proven not to be safe.
