I get the feeling that he simply loves App State and won't be swayed by money. Some folks are actually wired that way. It's been said before that a person even with a family can live quite nicely in the high county at close to $1m per. Win 9+ games a year, knock off the occasional top 10 team and maybe even hit a playoff. Or go disappear at Missouri (yeah I know about the money). Life really isn't completely ruled by $.

Wonder if they will just replay the same taped segment CFBLive? But was good.

He really has...In the beginning I wasn't 100% sure he was the right guy for this very reason.

Really enjoyed that interview on SportsCenter. Clark appears to be balancing all the attention well. He had another really good interview with Kyle Bailey yesterday on WFNZ in Charlotte. Looking forward to Saturday! Give ‘em Hell!

Our coaches are already on the top of lists that offer multi millions to their family...... please give to Yosef to keep our coaches... Doug I am sure is planning the pay increases to make it hard to leave App... the numbers will be 3-5 million a year at least .... and the coordinators will be offers over a million..... praying hard, high end App donors come out of the woodwork

Heck, one bad game and people will be calling for them to be fired.PhillyApp1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 1:58 pmOur coaches are already on the top of lists that offer multi millions to their family...... please give to Yosef to keep our coaches... The high end App donors already tap out. We need the mass of those who give nothing to drop 10 25 50 100 a year AND for some who give to other schools to change allegiances.PhillyApp1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 1:58 pmOur coaches are already on the top of lists that offer multi millions to their family...... please give to Yosef to keep our coaches... Re: Clark on Noon SC and CFBLive TODAY
Indeed. We need those fans who also give money to UNC, Duke, or maybe a FCS program to now give that money to App and to pick up new donors, especially from those under 40 years old. Instead of creeping up the high level requirements we need to pick up new donors big time. Just imagine if we got say 100k that folks give to other schools plus added 10,000 YC members to give just 100-200 a year that would go a long way.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 2:10 pmThe high end App donors already tap out. At one point we are going to have a bad game but I'm at least confident that Barbay will keep it up. He was a great hire that we probably need to go ahead and use some of that A&M money to keep him around. I want us to extend him and put a buyout in his contract. That man is going to be a HC at a G5 or P5 within 3-5 years though.TheMoody1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 2:07 pmHeck, one bad game and people will be calling for them to be fired.PhillyApp1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 1:58 pmOur coaches are already on the top of lists that offer multi millions to their family...... please give to Yosef to keep our coaches... Re: Clark on Noon SC and CFBLive TODAY
I give at a point I'm barely comfortable with. Like everything else in life, monthly payments make everything really easy and it costs nothing extra to do it that way. If all of our alumni gave $10 a month, we would never have to tap high donors for more again.

I agree.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 12:57 pmI get the feeling that he simply loves App State and won't be swayed by money. Some folks are actually wired that way. Win 9+ games a year, knock off the occasional top 10 team and maybe even hit a playoff. Or go disappear at Missouri (yeah I know about the money). Life really isn't completely ruled by $.
I also think that if WV were to move away from Neal Brown, they would go in the direction of a former P5 Head Coach or big time P5 Coordinator.

I agree. I think a potential turning point or if he would consider a change is if there is a change in AD, Chancellor that Clark does like the relationship. Those things happen. Hopefully that never happens...but it happens from time to timeWASU 93 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 4:26 pmI agree.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 12:57 pmI get the feeling that he simply loves App State and won't be swayed by money. The CFBLive segment was a different interview. Mostly the same topics but different.

Re: Clark on Noon SC and CFBLive TODAY
When interviewed he still does the usual "coach speak" but they all do really. Like many folks my age or older who have watched sports for a million years you reach a point where you have heard the same stuff over and over. After a while there really isn't much original things to say. That being said you can tell when a coach is spewing crap or when one sounds genuine. I really believe that coach is different and is genuinely invested in this school. It doesn't always work to bring back "your guy"- see Scott Frost but sometimes it does work. How many other successful programs like us (with the limited resources) are able to overcome the constant coaching changes without really skipping a beat? Can't be many

Re: Clark on Noon SC and CFBLive TODAY
I agree that he loves App and wants us to succeed. But i think we're fooling ourselves (again) if we think he won't be swayed by 4-5x his salary. He may not go for the 1st opportunity like Drink did, but money talks and he has own ambitions. I love Boone and App as much as anyone here, but if somebody offered me $5MM/year to coach anywhere in the USA i'd be on the next plane.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 12:57 pmI get the feeling that he simply loves App State and won't be swayed by money. He has a family to consider and if he gets that big time coaching job it probably means he took us to a NY6 or expanded playoff so I'm good.

If Jimbo can’t get his offense turned around, I can see him come after our Texas boy Barbay. His wife and BiL went to A&M.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Tue Sep 13, 2022 12:57 pmI get the feeling that he simply loves App State and won't be swayed by money. Some folks are actually wired that way.
