Doubt it. Our QB went 13-1 last year. The one loss was in terrible weather when the HC abandoned pass after two early drops. Play calling and sequence of play calling, putting QB in position to use his strengths are important ideas. This is evidently not happening this year. This is not to say that another QB would not have thrown key INTs as we have seen this year. Another QB may have thrown INTs in other situations. Who knows what would happen if things were different. I actually think worse as a new QB given pandemic restrictions would have had less time to work on timing with WRs as well as trying to learn playbook.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 6:35 pmNot saying he would have started, just wondering if he would have performed any better under the new leadership.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 5:47 pmHe wouldn’t have started. This is Zac’s team.WataugaMan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 2:28 pmNot sure how McCall would have performed if he had started for us this season as well.
On another topic, does anyone know what other schools players did if they had lock down like we did for couple of weeks. On App St weekly tv show, TE Pearson stated he went back home and noted he got his first buck while hunting. This seems strange to me. I realize in quarantine. However, kid healthy enough to go hunting.. was he working out to be ready to come back. Not knocking the kid.. Just using as example. He probably did as instructed or allowed by coaches. If other schools had similar situation, did they se d kids home or allow them to go home. This also makes me wonder what protocols were by coaches with players since March. I know that sone other schools had calls a few days a week with players to check in with players to ensure getting workouts in. I realize some, given limited financial means, may not have access. I wonder what our protocols were and if considered effective coming into season from a S&C perspective.
