Teams ahead of us will lose. For one thing, they play each other. For another, teams in the 21-30 range lose games. If they didn't, they'd be in the top 5.

However, the difference with the CFP is that we can't be assured of simply winning and moving up like we will in the AP and coaches' polls. CFP tends to be more favorable to P5s (like Ok State being somehow ranked), so they might just keep putting a bunch of 3-loss teams ahead of us. AAC and Boise also getting plenty of respect too, but it's unclear whether that would extend to us.

We can win out and if Ga Southern wins out we do not make championship game. We could be the highest ranked potentially and not make NY6 anyway. Oh Well...Beat South Carolina!

A lot can still happen in the AAC. Memphis or Cincy could easily drop 2 of their last 3 and still win the AAC...if they do that though not sure how all the tie-breakers would work out because they could have a 2 or 3 way tie in both divisions...I haven't worked through all of that but the leaders still have some tough games to play. Tulsa gave UCF their 3rd loss of the season last night.
We need a statement win in Columbia today (and it's a given we have to win out) or Boise to stumble to have a decent shot though. The AAC might just beat itself up enough to not be an obstacle.
Oh yeah, and those damn Ga Southern Eagles need to drop one more game...which is highly likely.
