Re: Charlotte area App State Alumni
Since we are discussing App owned places in the Charlotte area, Ben Dolphens at Devine Barrel Brewing is an App grad. Ford Craven, App grad, is part owner of the new brewery in Concord, Southern Strain.

That'd be cool, but afraid I wouldn't make it to halftime there!appstatealum wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 12:23 pmYeah, Andy went to somewhere in VA (Washington and Lee I think). I forgot what they told me about their App State relationship. But he has been an App guy (meaning fan) dating back to 06 when he bought it.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 11:21 amIf you're talking about Andy, I think he went to William and Mary. Not sure about his dad, though.appstatealum wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 8:58 pmNo, he is most definitely an App guy.PhillyApp1 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2019 8:25 pmI was told the owner was not an App State Alum..... i will consider going....service has sucked the 3 times i was there, so i gave up
Side note, a few of the people at Broken Spoke are App guys, I feel like they should do some viewing parties or something.

Harvey's, in Huntersville, is one of the original App hangouts. Haven't been over there in a couple of years, but they used to always have App games on whenever we played.

Angry Ales is usually the best place to watch an App game outside of the stadium in which the game is played. I've been to Crown Station a few times because I live in Plaza and sometimes I don't want to go all the way to Montford. AA's is the best experience by far. It was particularly insane for the DG Bowl, the Tennessee game, and the PSU game last year.

Now that I have my 120inch screen projector at the new house and a fridge full of adult beverages, the best place to watch an away game is now in my basement.

Back over to I-77...Harvey's (H2) in Cornelius...19906 N Cove Rd, Suite A is trememdous, but def not a dive!
Charlie and Luke are App grads and they do craft beer and food things right. Big Football fans...
"We are Beer Guys, so you will not see the normal line-up of beers on tap. Our handles will change every month with different beers from around the United States." (Says Charlie) Not to worry, Harvey's still carries all of you favorite big name domestics in the bottle.
"WE ARE IN THE APPSTATE BUSINESS!" Meaning, we support Appstate in any way that we can and hope to be a homecoming to all the alumni and students in the Charlotte area. Whether its during a big game or just a meal during the week with some other alumni, we want you to know how we feel about Appalachian State University. Just look at the posters and pictures on the wall, not to mention the uniforms we wear or the Appalachian Ale on special each Saturday during football season.

Proud triple-degree App grad--Classes of '66, '70 and '81.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Re: Charlotte area App State Alumni
Angry Ales didn’t book enough waitstaff and at one point cut the game sound to start doing their regular Wednesday night trivia. I’m kinda good giving them money as a “App bar” if they’re not aware of one of our bigger games of the year.
Edit: Talked to one of the servers after it calmed down, supposedly they had no call no show tonight which threw everything into chaos for them. Thats fine, but allowing trivia to cut the game sound when you're supposedly the premier App bar in town with the alumni association hosting an event there is pretty ridiculous.
