I’m not saying that he doesn’t listen, he would be a fool not to. But just because he listens doesn’t mean that he is gone. Look, Louisville wasn’t attractive enough to bring home their favorite son, so what makes you think that it would be attractive enough to lure our favorite son away? And don’t tell me money. Satt isn’t in it for the money and it will not sway the decision if there are some red flags to him. Take what I just said and go listen to the radio call with WFNZ. He is happy where he is. His family WANTS to be in Boone and did not like being away from it the last time. Not saying he doesn’t listen. But it would not surprise me if he tells the AD that the timing isn’t right, but thank you.
Brohm is making 3-4 million per year at Purdue Louisville was offering around 5 per year. Not that an extra million a year is nothing, but , Satterfield is making 700,000 a year. He can triple his salary by making this move.
I heard the interview and he sounds impressive and humble as always, but what do you expect him to say? I want to make the money I deserve and I can’t at App so I am outta here as soon as I get a better offer?
He may not take this job and it may not be offered, but this is a big time opportunity with a P5 school and P5 money, it’s not like him going to GA state for 20k a year more

Sorry, 94. I shouldn't have been so vague. It was directed at the folks (yourself included) who think we have a snowball's chance of keeping Satterfield in Boone while schools like Louisville are throwing Monopoly money at him.

To be more direct, Satterfield decided to leave App the moment he hired Jimmy Sexton as his agent. As someone else suggested, let's just enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Satt was a better fit at regional UNC than Louisville or Tech. Louisville has the money and could have the second best program behind Clemson in the ACC sooner than the dumpster fire Florida State or Miami rebuild. Louisville is the best job of the lot mentioned here.

I guess if Satt does go to Louisville, then P Johnson come home to the Mountains and APP would be the next thread?
No, we’ve got Mark Speir lined up and ready to go, other candidates need not apply.
God this better be sarcasm. I'm like 98% sure it is but you really can never tell with this place.

Lousiville ,UNC and Ga Tech are exactly the types of jobs he may take. Some of you act like he will only leave for a big name school or a team coming off a winning record. He will be offered struggling programs and dumpster fires. Schools like Clemson Penn State and Georgia have no interest in a G5 coach who has no experience whatsoever with a P5 team. Other than App he only has 1 year at Toledo and 2 at FIU. Not exactly an overwhelming resume.

Money won’t be the deciding factor. He can get the same kind of money three years from now when his kids are out of high school. I think there is a chance that he hesitates given that Brohm recognized the need for a long contract to protect himself as this is a long process. We will see. Sure, I want him to stay, but if he doesn’t, it doesn’t change how I feel about him and App. I am looking at the situation and thinking through it the way I beleive that he is. Family buy in is important and if they don’t, then he won’t.

Definite sarcasm. I knew it wouldn't be 100% clear given the forum, but I just couldn't bring myself to actually say it explicitly.

He was part of one of the best runs in Appalachian football history.

We can come him a ticket.

I know you were joking about Speir, but he actually might be an option for DC if we wind up in that market again. I wouldn't mind that...or even bringing Sloan back from GS, but I doubt he would come for a DC position.
