This...1000 times over! We have way too many stars on defense to put up the team stats that we have put up over the past few seasons. But I guess that's too difficult for some to understand.

So some want to fire the guy who has put out one All-American LB after another - I guess then they got to that level of AA without the benefit of coaching??? ---

Judging by the actual posts, the short answer is "Yes."

Is there another FCS program which has turned out more outstanding All-American caliber LBs over the last decade than APP? ---

I thought you took a break WVAPP?

Your comment makes no sense. HOORAY!!! We have all american LBs on squad that was 90th in total defense. Let's all celebrate at their individual accolades. Maybe Jones should go back to a LB coach cuz his defenses have ranked 50th, 53rd and 90th. Pretty nice resume. At 90th he has nowhere to go but up...or does he? New LBs and the best players from an underwhelming secondary will be gone.

Imagine if our Offense would have been that bad. HOLY COW! we would have run the committee out of town. Oh wait we did and the offense wasn't half as bad as the D. What was the offense? Like 38th or so, then we make a change and bring in Satterfield and some new asst. coaches.

I thought football was a team sport. I'll gladly take team successes over individual honors any day.

So he should stay because he's doing his secondary job well? The primary is DC, obviously not making the grade there.

IF we had not had the preseason losses on defense this year....I think we would have been in a position to perform better than the past two years.........

Scott Satterfield will make the right decision............

Dale Jones will get 1 more year. Plain and simple. Even with the losses, I bet the D improves, just depends on how much. Should be a good opportunity to see how much input JM had on the defense too, just like the offense. I know Satterfield wasnt in 100% control, and I'd bet Dale Jones wasnt either. I think DJ might be a bit more of a gambler where blitzes are concerned, and IMO, that would have counted for something this past year when QBs had all day to pick our secondary apart.

Oh, and 2 new safeties might actually be an improvment over the 10 man defense played on 3rd downs this past year.

I agree DJ will get another year, and I think he deserves 1 more year, I agree with you that Moore maybe handicapped Jone's playcalling the last 3 years, dont know, just speculation, but I like the idea of SS giving DJ full control of the defense and seeing how he does. If it greatly improves, and it becomes obvious Moore was a problem, then great, keep DJ, if the defense continues to unperform, then SS doesnt renew his contract, and he can be let go with a clean conscience.

You defended Chris Moore with the same argument. How'd that work out for you?

"You defended Chris Moore with the same argument. How'd that work out for you?"

"how did it work out for 'me'?" - what the hell is that supposed to mean???

I don't believe Chris Moore was relieved of his duties because he was a sorry coach - I seem to remember there was another reason ---

Never understood the no accountability never fire anyone mentality.

Good thing that doesnt apply to the guys that build bridges... I wouldnt really care to be a family member of a deceased bridge crosser with the investigation of the bridge builder coming to the conclusion that "the bridge sucked, but the company tried hard."

Satterfield post game radio.
What did he say? I have a hard time believing he would say on the radio that Coach Moore interfered with or handcuffed his play calling.

It was after the Citadel loss, and it had to do with JM wanting to run on them more. This was about the time Miller was getting TFL of 2 or 3 on every run play. It wasnt until late in the 3rd quarter Miller had any real running room, when the Cit went pretty much prevent.
