We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Moore and Cobb had an agreement that 2012 was it before the season.
Moore wanted another year and Cobb said no
Cobb made a horrible decision and announced the retirement/firing in the worst way possible...
The end.
Jerry did his show on the road to the newspapers and looked like a crybaby.
The end of the end.

Okam's FT going viral will have 0.0% effect on FBS.
Going FBS is about potential more than anything else. The idea that CUSA didn't invite us down because of basketball is a myth.

The FCS is gonna be so awesome without JMU, Ga. Southern, ODU and others. Can't wait for Presbyterian to join the SoCon, now that will be a great rivalry and so awesome football.

Re: Breaking News
The one fact in the story already says I all I need to know..."Documents dated from December 2011". The one thing no one has brought up here, and that should give everyone pause - if, in fact, Jerry Moore doesn't remember what appears to be a well documented transaction - shouldn't that be proof enough that he no longer has the faculties to run a football program? Not the most sensitive thing - but it was a thought I've had for a week.
Also - as far as this derailing an FBS invite - the league that seems our most likely destination contains a school that just hired Bobby Petrino. I think we're safe!

Seems to me that you care more about WHO we play than the fact that we play.. I've sEEn plenty of GREAT ASU football in the past few years.. Heck, the ending of the Samford game this year was pretty awesome.. The Furman game certainly was interesting!
You see, for some of us fans we really dig our boys black and gold... It's folks like yourself that really "want" that sky blue on the opposite sidelines...

Re: Breaking News
The horrible decision is how the announcement was made and not the fact he did not rehire Moore? Is that your point. This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Yes... I'd say that's right... I think it had to be done (if agreements were made preseason). It just wasn't done with much tact.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:The horrible decision is how the announcement was made and not the fact he did not rehire Moore? Is that your point. I have been wondering who else felt this way.appgrad wrote:I just want to be excited about big games more than twice a year...and playing teams that aren't in High School stadiums...
I have traveled to every SoCon opponent except Samford in the past two years. Every game we have a great traveling fan base, get everyone's best shot and with the exception of GSU...it is like playing in and in front of a big high school game.
I want to be excited about all the games and the places!

Re: Breaking News
No I just think that if we don't move up then we will be left behind by our rivals when the FCS becomes a glorified D2 full of small private schools. Basically what the SoCon is now. The fact that the Citadels, Woffords and Samfords of the world beat or play competitive with a program of our resources and facilities is just sad and more proof Cobb did the right thing.vegattk wrote:I certainly don't miss Marshall or ECU......ASU_MBA wrote:vegattk wrote:I hope it does.sixtoes9134 wrote:I hope all this buffoonery doesn't derail an FBS invite.

I am not excited about watching App play in the 2000 flushes blue bowl but I also don't get in the fetal position when change happens whether that be Jerry spending more time playing checkers at the Cracker Barrel or App deciding to move up.

Funny... You won't need to curl up in a fetal position. There will be plenty of space in Kidd Brewer to spread out when our Base leaves us after a few "hard" years..ASU_MBA wrote:No I just think that if we don't move up then we will be left behind by our rivals when the FCS becomes a glorified D2 full of small private schools. But, you know, I'll take the high road.. I'll certainly still be there in our sub .500 seasons in the FBS. You can come to my corner of the stadium where if you'll hear an "I told you so" I'll slip a little homemade shine in your cup to help drown your tears.

Re: Breaking News
Fans still showed up after the 15th of September. So the core of your argument is "let's stay put so we can win 8 games or so and keep the fair weather fans happy". Like playing Madden on the easy level cuz it's just more fun. Lets move to D2 under your logic and whoop some Catawba and Lenior Ryne ass. The stands will be packed!

Nice rehash of the same tired argument.ASU_MBA wrote:Fans still showed up after the 15th of September. You need some sort of challenge to keep it fun.
There's a reason you keep playing Madden on medium..
Easy is too easy and soon you get bored and stop playing
Hard/madden is too dern hard and soon you give up and stop playing
Medium is just right. You're challenged and that keeps the game fresh and interesting... In the end you keep playing.
Heck I still play NCAA 2010 on medium to this day!

Gene Fowler of the Democrat played for me down in McDowell County. Last year when all of the stuff was going on we talked some and he asked quite a few questions about the past and what was happening then. I told him a lot had been reported to being swept under the rug. He was interested in getting the facts on everything and not doing fluff pieces as had been the case in the past.

There's a difference between being cautious and being defeatist. You've crossed the line, Veg.

Re: Breaking News
"If that is not the issue but Jerry comes out as a bit senile forgetting about important meetings then so be it."
No way he is that "old", how can one forget a meeting on an issue of extreme importance to one's life? However, if he is that "senile" then it was his time to retire.
