Re: Chandler Staton
That was A:) the worst two point attempt I have ever seen in my entire football watching life and B:) a great way to have potentially gotten Rylee Critcher hurt.

Re: Chandler Staton
I don’t have a problem with the decision to go for 2nand thought it was a good call at the time, but as others have mentioned, the call that was made didn’t give us a great chance to succeed.
If you make the call to go for 3, I think your first team offense should be running the play.
If you are going to try a trick play or other gimmick play, at least do it quickly for the element of suprise.
As soon as everyone split out wide, the ball should have been snapped to keep the defense confused. But after everyone split out, you have a “qb” that has no experience at this level looking to the sidelines for the play, which everyone knows what it’s going to be. He’s not going to throw in that situation, and there was an empty backfield, so the possibility of a pitch is gone.
In my (non-professional, Monday morning armchair quarterback) opinion, the only chance of pulling off that play with that personnel was to snap the ball as soon as everyone split out wide and hope you had someone confused and out of position.
Edit to add, we continue to put Critcher in bad situations like punting from deep in you own end zone, and poorly designed/run “trick” play attempts

Re: Chandler Staton
Maybe, but the fact that the center knew to hold the ball until Critcher got a call from the sideline before calling for the snap, and Critcher looking to the sideline for a call, leads me to believe it was called that way.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2017 8:50 amMaybe Critcher didnt run it right? The Rock wrote: ↑Mon Oct 23, 2017 7:35 amI don’t have a problem with the decision to go for 2nand thought it was a good call at the time, but as others have mentioned, the call that was made didn’t give us a great chance to succeed.

You would think if the Pre snap alignment or something was obviously wrong, we would have called a timeout to reset, or just kick it.
