To be honest, I'm not a fan of either F_U's outside of the fact that we could be playing in FL (helps with recruiting) every year or every other year.

If we're trading out, I'd probably prefer JMU over FIU since FAU at least has good baseball (finished #28 this past year).

I like the idea of being in a conference with FIU/FAU. Not only opens up South Florida for recruiting and provides an occasional nice road trip, but let's be honest: we don't want everybody in our conference to be good. I want a few games we can count on winning in the league.

Speaking non-financially, the geographic realignment would be better for fans and players...I'd likely go to Greenville every other year to see App play ECU but may never go to Lafayette or Monroe...etc.
Yep. Been saying for quite a while the Group of 5 is going to HAVE to realign with smart georgraphical choices. A conference with App, Marshall, ECU, WKU, Ga State, Ga Southern, Middle Tenn, Memphis and JMU would rock IMO. Perfect 4-4 setup for football. Go Apps!

Can we all just stop slobbering over JMU? Let'em stay put until they check their ego

How about CCU instead of Ga St? Myrtle Beach trip way more appealing especially if the game is earlier in the season. Williamsburg is cool as well.

It's impossible to build rivalries when we're always tweaking and shuffling teams in and out. I like the writer's true regional alignment but if something like that happens it needs to STAY that way for more than 18 months.
