Clemson is definitely a superior team. However, I can't help but think of all the ways we shot ourselves in the foot during the 2nd quarter. That 20 point + swing wasn't the result of us playig them straight up, rather them capitalizing on our poor coaching decisions/plays (performance) I.e. 3 chances at a FG, pick 6, INt in endzone and INt in just about the clemson redzone. Arguably, our D had no say in those points (save the FG).

All of that said, do I think we would have won? probably not. But I do think it would have been a much more respectable game, performance wise, had we taken care of ourseleves like Satterfield preached thoughout the week. Unfortunately, we had multiple mental lapses in the 2nd quarter that determined the outcome of the entire game.

The bad was the offense. Play calling was vanilla and the WR group was the worst I've seen them play in a while. I know McGuire is on suspension but where is Letman?

Saying that we will have a good year, a lot of things to be optimistic about. Just wish we could show up like A State and Misouri
I've been wondering where letman was as well. As far as ark state and Missouri; ark stage lost 55-6 to USC last week and Clemson and USC would be a good game, Clemson would put numbers up on mizzou

With the number of NFL Scouts that were at the game today, I think its safe to say that Mr Blair got himself on a number of draft boards. Gibbs, Gilchrist and Law all showed very well. Fernandez as well. All-in-all, we had one disastrous quarter. We were outplayed for sure, but I never thought it looked like we were man-handled, if you know what I mean. Their DL was great. Our OL did not play their best game. Taylor looked like a RSo. We should be OK, as long as we learn from our mistakes... and that's for the players and coaches.

I just got back home from Death Valley!! I had a great time the Clemson folks was very nice and kind to me and was joy to be around.. Here is my The Good The Bad The Ugly

The Good:
1. Special teams am I the only one who thinks that they did great today!! It's night and day how far this group has came! Big props
2. Defense they played very hard and well today.. I know most will be like they gave up 28 in one quarter but they was on that dang field FOREVER!! They gave one of the most high powered offense's in the nation fits! Big Props
The Bad:
Nothing bad so I'll just jump to ugly
The Ugly:
1. Offense my lord I thought we was going to be able to do something but man was I wrong we just got pushed around and looked awful for most of the game but I give it to those boys they kept with it and fought and got better and better and that's a good thing we all can take away is that these boys won't quit which isn't new

Overall I'm proud of these boys they played their guts out!!

Now it's time to handle business!!

I just spent a few minutes looking at the game stats. There are a few good takeaways from the numbers.

The takeaway about Dabo? Kicking a FG with one minute on the clock--already up 38-10. Nice!

My takeaways

Our offensive play calling LEFT our defense to fight for their lives.
We had NO QB runs until 4th qtr, NO roll out passes, NO WR with seperation.
Offense did not play to win. I saw coaching that didn't want to show our offense like last year when we went 1-5.

I personally will not spend my money going to any more APP P5 games when the coaches wont give their ALL, neither will I.

I also know its a long season but its not worth watching the players fight with one arm behind their back against players with more talent. Its not fair to the players or my pocket.

Was at the game. Really surprised we couldn't move the ball on offense, equally and pleasantly surprised at how well our defense played against the Clemson offense. Specially teams was markedly improved as well.

I don't know if it's predictable play calling or what but Clemson's defense clearly new what play was coming. I couldn't believe how perfectly their defense shifted when Taylor audibled; it really was like they had our playbook. All that said, if we scored after the first interception, I think it's a different game or just a few extended drives for us on offense and it's a different game. NO team can win or be competitive in a game when their defense is on the field 2/3s of the time.

Still, I'm not too worried about the rest of the season as long as Taylor can get past this game. To me, that's the biggest threat, a QB's psyche can be a fragile thing and he has to believe he can run through walls if we are going to be a good as we can be. Definitely a good time for a bye week.

Funny how great (and/or crazy) minds think alike. Yesterday on the csnbbs board I posted the same Good,Bad, Ugly analysis yesterday after the game.

This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Without the two mental lapse invoked interceptions giving Clempson a short field to 2 TD's, we meet expectations (+17). If we punch it in when we were inside the 10 (or was it the 5?) we exceed them.
