The way things are playing out, it sounds like Orlando is the likely destination.

All depends on ULL now. NO has taken them before as a lesser team. If they win I think:
ULL - NO
Troy - DG
Ark St - Camellia
App - Cure
If they lose:
Troy - NO
App - DG
Ark St. - Camellia
USA - Cure
Idaho - AZ

Re: LATEST BOWL PROJECTIONS - ESPN
Does Cure get the 6th place AAC team? I believe that is currently Houston. I know the coverage for Cure is not ideal but that would be a pretty big time matchup for our Mountaineers. With Herman headed to Texas, Satterfield could potentially secure a big time win over a program that beat FSU in a NY6 game last year and was shooting for P5 status just a couple of months ago.

If we get to 6 eligible bowl teams as a league we could get shut out from our conference's bowl slots. Honestly could put us in a better matchup.

6th looks to more likely be Memphis??moonshine wrote:Does Cure get the 6th place AAC team? I believe that is currently Houston. Both are 5-3 in conference play and Memphis just beat Houston. With the head to head win, I think that puts Memphis 5th and Houston 6th.

We are throwing darts in the dark at this point, but SB Nation has us in the NO Bowl against La Tech. That'd be a heck of a lot of fun.

Vegas? New Orleans? Neither town is ready for our fans.

When is the earliest the bowl match-ups start getting announced?
I'd love the Las Vegas bowl! Such a breeze from Denver, less than $200 roundtrip for that weekend.

Sunday Dec 4th. Bowl selection show on ESPN but twitter and fbschedules.com start sending out messages almost WAY before ESPN's show comes on the tube.falcoapp wrote:When is the earliest the bowl match-ups start getting announced?

There's also probably a message there for the conference and the bowls: Don't even think about it.T-Dog wrote:There's a reason App isn't selling potential tickets to the Arizona Bowl. Re: LATEST BOWL PROJECTIONS - ESPN
Someone check my math. If I counted correctly there are possibly 9 bowl slots still open- need 9 more teams to get 6 wins. The Belt could get 2 more Saturday and it appears dicey to fill the rest. God forbid we get stuck with a 5-7 team as an opponent

Re: LATEST BOWL PROJECTIONS - ESPN
There will be somewhere between 2 and 4 teams with 5-7 records playing in bowls this year. There are currently 76 bowl eligible teams with South Alabama and UL-Lafayette still with a chance to get to 6 wins.
Based on APR. North Texas and Mississippi State are guaranteed to be the first two. Texas, Northern Illinois and UL-Monroe (if they beat UL-Lafayette to get to 5-7) are the next three.

I hope it doesn't come to this in the future, but I wonder where our APR ranks compared to these programs.

I can't attend a bowl on the 23rd and can't afford to go to Vegas. I'm hoping for NO or Cure.

It's almost ironic that APR is used so far down the line to determine what lousy team gets rewarded with one more game. You seldom hear that achronym at all otherwise.Saint3333 wrote:I hope it doesn't come to this in the future, but I wonder where our APR ranks compared to these programs.

Re: LATEST BOWL PROJECTIONS - ESPN
Not sure what you mean - it's the first and only criteria used. Its more significant application is to ban teams from postseason play when they come up short. Which is more than it should be used for IMO - it's a joke of a metric for academic performance.bigdaddyg wrote:It's almost ironic that APR is used so far down the line to determine what lousy team gets rewarded with one more game.
