Re: USC Twitter Bad Mouthing Our Fanbase
We cover South Carolina daily on our show. That fan base is unhinged. Before the season 90% bought into the 8 win hype DESPITE having the toughest schedule in America. Then they bought into the hype after beating Georgia and thought they'd win 6 more games after that. Then bought into the "the refs are systematically against us" narrative.
I had it out with a Gamecock website writer who tweeted the entire officiating staff ahead of the Tennessee game...something that just isn't done. That info is available if you know exactly where to find it, but it's not easy to get hold of. But the narrative all week was the refs are against them so this guy thought it was cogent to out them all 4 hours ahead of kickoff.
Give them credit for being passionate even when their team sucks, but losing to UNC, losing to App State, (likely) getting skull dragged by Clemson, and missing a bowl game doesn't fit their "we're great" narrative. It's probably Will Muschamp's fault for winning 9 games in year 2 and raising the bar too high.
