Re: Endzone For Saturday
He really ran that pseudo-intellectual thing into the ground, much like the Apps will do to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on Saturday.

I know the troll is gone and he was weak and petulant while here, but this burn had to be further commended.appchicago wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 4:27 pmI wouldn't know. We've never had to say it.ManAboutTown wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 4:25 pmAnd as far as you are concerned, it's better to say you lost to Louisiana than ULL, ULaLa, Louisiana-Lafayette, UL-Lafayette, etc etc... right?
Been a long time lurker, seldom if ever post, just felt the need to say well done.

FWIW, someone with the same moniker, ManAboutTown, was over on the RaginPagin message board commenting that he was amazed he was approved to come over here. So, he went looking to get booted. Glad he got what he wanted. Class A jerk. Thx. to App89 for muzzling him.
Interestingly, back in Sept. and one week prior to the first ULaLa game, I went over to the RaginPagin message board and applied to post there. It was about 3 weeks after that first game
that I was approved to post. I found that odd at the time, but now it becomes more clear. So, it does appear there is a completely different mind-set between Cajuns and Mountaineers as to what constitutes appropriate behavior on opposing teams' message boards. App89 was right, EVEN GaSo fans know to behave over here.
My son, who graduated with a BS from App and is now in grad school at App, has been watching App football since he was about 2. He has only very rarely missed a home game. Ever. And, he's been to many away games. So, his App football knowledge is pretty high. He has experienced first hand the various tendencies of the various opposing fan bases that App has played. He has developed a most intriguing theory. His theory is this: There is a direct relationship between the politeness/pleasantness of a football school's fan base and that school's history of having successful football teams. Schools with long histories of successful football (think of Michigan, Penn State, Montana, App State, etc.) have the most polite fan bases (and by "long", I mean close to 90 - 100 years). Schools with shorter histories of successful football (think GaSo, Delaware, ULaLa, etc.) have less polite fan bases.
Although I am not sure why this is, I believe he is exactly right. I can think of a number of explanations, perhaps the best is there is sort of a mass, inferiority complex or group jealousy in those school's fan bases with shorter football successes.
Perhaps there are schools with long histories of football success that do not fit this theory. If so, we have yet to play them. The Penn St., Michigan, & Montana fans I met personally were top-notch folks.
In any event, thanks to App89 for addressing our problem poster.

FWIW, on our trip to Lafayette for our 2014 game the Cajun fans were super nice and welcomed us to their tailgate.
