Looking at Wyoming's offensive stats for this year compared to our defensive stats I'd say trying to run the ball on us would not be in their best interest. The Cowboys have had much more success in the passing game, and our run D is one of the best units in the nation. We've given up a few big plays in the passing game so it would probably be best to try to take some shots down the field early to loosen up the run D.The Virginian wrote:Things look pretty bleak on the High Plains. But despite the 0-4 start the one thing the Pokes won't lack is fight, Coach Bohl is seeing to that. I suspect that they will trying to establish the run first and then go to the air should that fail. Offense isn't really the problem it's their defense which is porous at times. I expect this young Cowboy team to have a lot of fight, striving to get their first win. I advise the Mountaineers not to look past these guys. Apply State by 14.

Re: Looking at Wyoming
It took a lot of bargain basement marketing but we will be there ticket wise by Saturday at the gate come rain or shine. Going what, 6 out of 7 wins since last year and playing a flag ship university albeit an 0-4 one and homecoming should do the trick.JTApps1 wrote:Ticket sales are looking up this week. I believe you might have been looking at the forecast for October 10. The WC's forecast for this Saturday is 100% rain.hotrod2001 wrote:On the bright side, The Weather Channel's now saying Boone will be partially cloudy with a 20% chance of rain, down from their 80% chance yesterday.

Get ready rain or shine. We owe Wyo a big one after what they laid on us in 2004.

Re: Looking at Wyoming
It poured the whole game in 2004, may have been the most miserable game to sit through, a cold rainy 50 point loss. Payback time.
Re: Looking at Wyoming
looking at their defense, they are really small, on the defensive line they average 6'2 235, linebackers 6'1 212, saw also where they are making whole changes in the linebacker corp, moving guys from middle to outside, benching guys, and starting 2nd stringers, looks like alittle desperation to try and find something that works. On paper it looks like we shouldn't have problems moving the ball.

Re: Looking at Wyoming
App fans should take note:
"In his first year at Wyoming after transferring from Indiana, the 6-2 senior knows he has a lot of work to do. The Cowboys are 0-4 this season and have struggled to run the ball. However, Coffman threw for a career-high 366 yardslast week against New Mexico and is showing signs he'll regain his 2012 form when he ranked second in the Big Ten in passing yards per game (248.5)".
Wyoming's problems haven't been because they lack offensive punch, it has been on the defensive side that has hurt them. I think a lot of our fans look at their 0-4 record and just assume this game will be a cake walk. I have a feeling it will be far more competitive than many are predicting particularly with the weather being what it will likely be.

Re: Looking at Wyoming
Meant to post this the other day. DJ reached out to the 2 Guys Named Chris show from Rock 92 and they were giving away a pair of homecoming tickets on Wednesday and Thursday (not sure if they did it all week as those were the only 2 days I heard their show) during the "tough ass trivia" segment. Hopefully they did something similar with stations around the state, namely Charlotte, Raleigh and Asheville.JTApps1 wrote:Ticket sales are looking up this week. Re: Looking at Wyoming
Thanks for the links. It's good to get perspective. Here's to a great game with no injuries and hopefully a big Homecoming win for the Mountaineers.
