Re: Roster/Staff Updates
That as well. Even if he wanted to come I'm sure the kid would rather his dad not be around. Parents are tougher on their kids than anyone else. The player likely would not want it, he does not need the money, and a lot more he can do to stay relevant. Just a dumb hope/suggestion to even bring up. I know someone who knows Grier and they laughed when I told them about someone bringing it up.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Inside sources tell me that the starter will have the letter J as their 2nd initial.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
It’s not much of a secret if you watched the ODU game and listened to how Dowell spoke of both QBs. Swann is the better QB when he’s healthy, which he is. He must make good decisions and the players around him must catch the ball.

One of my professor friends (big football fan) has a TE in his class. TE said neither have looked great in practice this week. Hopefully, the are gamers

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
That’s been Swann’s issue since he arrived to be honest. He is the most talented QB but he doesn’t show that consistently and certainly doesn’t practice that way. Everytime the coaches thought he was going to cement himself as the guy, he looks like the player we saw against USM. Maybe he can learn from those mistakes and take advantage of this opportunity now. He is running out of opportunities. One thing in his favor this time is he does have good rapport with Dozier.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 1:03 pmOne of my professor friends (big football fan) has a TE in his class. If had been healthy, Cummings may have been the best TE we have ever had for one season. He will be missed. Great safety valve.

Definitely an argument for it. Sad that his football career could be done now.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 1:38 pmIf had been healthy, Cummings may have been the best TE we have ever had for one season. He will be missed. Great safety valve.

Suddenly, I’m not feeling as good about this game.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 1:03 pmOne of my professor friends (big football fan) has a TE in his class. TE said neither have looked great in practice this week. Hopefully, the are gamers.

Wait…I just remembered I wasn’t feeling good about this game anyway.

Swann is a metaphor for this team's results thus far.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 1:34 pmThat’s been Swann’s issue since he arrived to be honest. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Our tight end room is pretty bad as far as receiving threats go. Blocking guys only.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 1:03 pmOne of my professor friends (big football fan) has a TE in his class. TE said neither have looked great in practice this week. Hopefully, the are gamers.

Motion into the flat on an RPO is about all we get out of them.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Makes sense! Hope he can turn it around next season, but App deserves better then to function as training wheels for wannabe headcoaches. You either win games or you don't.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Previous coach inherited a Corvette. Current coach inherited a Yugo.
Then weeding out players not living to the standard depleted even more on D.
He should be given time.
It is going to take time unless the staff gets nil money for D1 level OL, DL and secondary.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
100% on this. If there is no improvement next season then I say there's and issue. Clark left at 5-6. There were players on that team that should have been gone before the season started. They got kept around so the overall record wouldn't be as bad as it could have been. This year we are 4-5. That's with a complete overhaul, first year head coach, injuries, and kicking some players to the curb. We are so used to winning and looking down at other schools we forgot what it's like to be the one picked on and beaten down. Humble pie has a way of wearing on the patience. With that said ...patience is the key. I think Coach Dlo figures this out. My first year moving up and coaching high school level soccer players ended with us losing all of our games (been coaching for a decade or more yet hadn't moved to that level). This year (3 years later) we won the championship of our league. That first year sucked big time and parents weren't real happy. The second year we went .500 and made the playoffs but got knocked out.....but those that stuck it out reaped the benefits this year.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Fri Nov 07, 2025 6:31 amPrevious coach inherited a Corvette. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Support among fans or support in the administration?
You always expect fans to overreact (and I’m in that bunch) but administrators need to take a medium term view.
What is DLO plans for next year? This year is shot maybe we get to 6 wins but probably not.
Imo he needs to commit to changing the staff to make room for a real OC. Hopefully he’ll be able to bluster his way to some NIL funds.
Imo one legit criticism of DG is our lack of presence in CLT. We are never going to get anywhere expecting normal People to fund NIL. We need to embed ourselves with the corporate community in Charlotte and show them investing in us gives them dividends with our national brand. I wouldn’t be opposed to dg moving down here full time for fundraising. I can assure you this is uncc #1 objective
