So uh could someone fill me in?
So uh could someone fill me in?
What's up guys, so ive grown up as a diehard Wolfpack football fan but have decided to attend ASU in the fall. I went the spring game yesterday but had to leave before halftime. But basically, Ive been too lazy to do the research and was wondering overall how the program is looking for next year. I plan to attend pretty much every home game and kind of want a jist of what im going to be watching (QB situation, impact players, recruiting standings, coaching staff, etc). Thanks for the help and... GO APP!

Re: So uh could someone fill me in?
The spring game wasn't the best indicator of our team right now to be honest. New defensive scheme (switching to 3-4) and new offensive scheme (more Pistol than Spread we have run since 2005)
Top 2 QBs are out for spring but Jamal Londry-Jackson is our starter. I would put him up against any other QB from FBS schools in NC. I would also put our top 4 WR against any other group in the state. Sean Price is the one to watch amongst the WRs. RB position is wide open right now and they're all freshman and 1 sophomore
D-line is the group to watch on D. Deuce and Blair are the big impact guys there. LB is an unknown as we're breaking in all new starters this year. Secondary will be young too but has some impact players in Middleton, Ross, and we hope Blackmon
Welcome to the App family. On Gameday there is only one rule, really. Be LOUD!!

Welcome to App GLetch! Please dont make it a habit of leaving at halftime. We have too many fans that do that already!GLetch wrote:What's up guys, so ive grown up as a diehard Wolfpack football fan but have decided to attend ASU in the fall. they should be the favorite or atleast one of the favorites to win the SC, even though, technically, we cant claim it. This team is alot of fun to watch, spread offense ,alot of scoring, really aggressive defense. You picked a great time to become mountaineer, the school is growing, (rumored the state wants us to increase student population to 20 thousand), plans are on the table to increase the size of the stadium, and of course the move up to FBS. Welcome, hope you grow to love App as much as I do.

I sat in NCSU student section 2 times last year, they only get up for the "big game" we get up for every game i will promise you that. Enjoy that!!! If you want a really good seat might want to get into the game about 2 hours before.GLetch wrote:Awesome, thanks for the info everyone. Haha i still have a sense of allegiance to the pack so i could debate you on that (though student section against FSU was absolutely unreal). But from what ive seen, App has an extremely loyal local fan base and I am more than ready to be apart of it. And thanks for the tip, if the tailgaiting is as amazing as everyone has told me it is, you can expect to see me there way earlier than then3rd wrote:I sat in NCSU student section 2 times last year, they only get up for the "big game" we get up for every game i will promise you that. Re: So uh could someone fill me in?
Good deal. Hey, I grew up a big State fan too. My father is a State grad and our oldest son is a sophmore there now. So I have been to many great football games in Carter-Finley over the years...but I am an App grad and we have had season tickets in Boone for years. I love the game day experience in Boone and I hope you will too!!GLetch wrote:Awesome, thanks for the info everyone. Welcome to the Family. Just remember that you were a State fan when you were a child, and will do your growing up at App.

Gletch,
You are now an App State Man and a part of our family. Time to leave your boyhood allegiances at the door.
You will never be the same again and better for it.

Welcome to the board and welcome to App Nation. The Rock isn't as large as Carter Finley, but the place is much more consistently rowdy. I hope you're excited about being jammed into the most packed student section imaginable. It is a truly unique experience.GLetch wrote:What's up guys, so ive grown up as a diehard Wolfpack football fan but have decided to attend ASU in the fall. I still get chills watching that Illinois St game clip Gonzo posted. For only ~17,000 people that were there, it was close to loudest I've ever heard that stadium be
