An idea I had if App State this Saturday

I'm a neutral observer in the Troy game.

However, I do have an idea.

App State had a game with Southern Miss canceled because of a hurricane earlier this year.

So did Marshall and Virginia Tech, who are scheduled to play each other in Blacksburg on December 1, but ONLY if VT beats Virginia.

If VT loses, they don't have a shot at becoming bowl-eligible, so they wouldn't play Marshall then.

Which gets me to thinking. If VT and App State both lose this Saturday, Marshall would have an opening on their schedule, and App State would not be in the Sun Belt title game. Marshall lost a road game, App State lost a home game.

Put 2 and 2 together, and if VT and App State lose on Saturday, Marshall and App State could renew their old SoCon rivalry on December 1 in Boone.

What would you think of this possibility?

Had already been mentioned by administration that the wouldn’t make that game up this year.

Though we of course expect to have a game in Boone on Dec 1.

Prior to the texas state game, DG said there are ongoing discussions with several schools regarding options for Dec 1st, but our full expectation is to be playing in the CCG.

We WILL be hosting a Sun Belt Championship game....so this thread means nothing to me....

I'm thinking you wasted brain cells on that. App has already refunded ticket sales on SM game and is not looking to reschedule. I want Marsha, but not a week after disappointing loss.

Nice idea but that ship has sailed. If we lose to Troy, the team could benefit from some extra practice time, without having to worry about game prep until bowl game, likely on Dec 15th.

First, we are going to win Saturday. If by some crazy chance that we lose this game it would be crazy to just “get in another game” especially with an understandably deflated App team. Again, we gonna win so yeah, terrible thread.
