Re: Tx State Unis
Daphne, I agree for the most part but black is our primary color. We will have only worn it for 2/3 of our home games this year and that's assuming we wear it Nov. 19th. At some point tradition wins out.

Oh, don't get me wrong. If I were choosing, unis would be all black all the time. My eyes aren't the best. The yellow shoes have me seeing penalty flags on every play.YesAppCan wrote:Daphne, I agree for the most part but black is our primary color. Yes especially when they're falling off our players feet!DaphneUrquhart wrote:Oh, don't get me wrong. If I were choosing, unis would be all black all the time. My eyes aren't the best. if we could go back to the actual gold (old gold) that we had on helmets in the 70s or 80s or whenever that was, I could deal with it, but this yellow doesn't translate well on video, imo. If we say that we wear black and gold, let's actually wear black and gold (Wake Forest, GT, etc.)

Amen and amen and amen! Black and mustard doesn't impress me but hey I'm an old white guy whose opinion wasn't asked for nor is it sought anymore. LOL! I believe 1982 was the last season we wore the GOLD helmets? I, for one am glad we got away from the Old Gold. For a long time there you couldn't tell us apart from Wake. Especially when we had the flying Yosef helmets. I'm glad we set ourselves apart and would hate to see us go back to that color. Too drab. Having said that, I'm not a fan of the Banana uniform either. I can't believe the players seem to like it so much.

Re: Tx State Unis
it's probably just the novelty of it, since they're kids. I will say that I really like the white shirts/pants combo for the road, especially after the stripes/accents were added to the pants. Also, I might be in the minority, but I really like the matte black helmets with the black A that we've used the last few years. I sort of wish we could transition fulltime to the black A. I noticed that men's basketball has had the black A on their shorts the last couple of years as well.AppinATL wrote:app97 wrote:if we could go back to the actual gold (old gold) that we had on helmets in the 70s or 80s or whenever that was, I could deal with it, but this yellow doesn't translate well on video, imo. I didn't much care for the matte black helmets or the black A at first but they have grown on me.app97 wrote:it's probably just the novelty of it, since they're kids.
