We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: 2016 Yosef Seating Stadium Layout
The Gold VIP section is that tiny section of "chair" seats at the very, very top of 204. They are actually yellow seats. The donation level for those seats has been $1,500 for the past few years plus the premium seat price.mountaineertider wrote:Just got the email about season tickets and have a question someone more knowledgeable than me probably can answer.
"Season tickets for the six-game slate at Kidd Brewer Stadium in 2016 cost just $200 for adults — an increase of just $13 ($2.17 per game) over last year — and $165 for current Appalachian faculty/staff, senior citizens (ages 60+ — two per account) and youth (ages 3-12). Season tickets cost $370 in the Gold VIP section and $280 in the East VIP section. "
I sit in 206. Does that equate to the "Gold VIP section"? If so, that's a big jump in season ticket costs. Not complaining... just curious.

Re: 2016 Yosef Seating Stadium Layout
I'm going from memories of season ticket packing ...appphotog wrote:This may have been mentioned throughout the discussion however can someone breakdown the amounts needed to give for each parking lot location (stadium, peacock, parking decks, greenwood, etc.) independent of years donated?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
$250 = Liberry, Rivers St decks festival parking
$500 = Liberry, Rivers St ?????
$1,000 = Greenwood, Raley / Peacock
$1,500 = Raley / Peacock, Duncan, Justice /CAP
$2,500 = Justice / CAP, Stadium
Young Alum = University Dr
There are also small lots tucked here and there. For example, there are a handful of spots in the Music lot and at the Quinn. There's also the Champions lot behind the athletic center that is truly a VIP lot.
Where one is placed in those lots depends on donation history, current giving, and prior year parking. I've parked in Stadium 76 for seven or eight years. The rule of thumb in prior years was that fans kept their prior year parking space so long as their current year donation was sufficient for the same parking privilege.
Of course, all of this is subject to change.

Re: 2016 Yosef Seating Stadium Layout
The VIP section on the east side is quite small. As with the Gold VIP on the west side, the seats are true seats rather than bleachers with bleacher backs.
Since the club and suite levels opened, the VIP sections on each side have sold at a premium. If your season tickets last year were at regular season ticket price, you're not in the VIP seats.

Re: 2016 Yosef Seating Stadium Layout
Couple things. We are in a new world and increasing revenue is paramount. As I read the email I sense most of the season ticket holders are not Yosef Club members and many have premium seats. So either join the Yosef Club at some level and get season tickets or pay 30% more for single game tickets. If I read this correctly I'm in favor of the hard push to get those who haven't stepped up to do so. As a side though I see Seniors are defined as 60+. I'm 64. I suggest you raise The Senior level discount to 65+. Also nothing to do with tickets or the Yosef Club...Id like to see large drums filled with black and gold shakers/ pom poms or what ever you call them( sic Alabama's red and white ones) that will be free for fans that can be returned to the drums after the game. I always thought Alabama's stands were impressive with this and seeing 25k plus in KB with these especially on TV against Miami would be awesome....OR free black and gold towels?

Yes! I think this would be great. Re: 2016 Yosef Seating Stadium Layout
This is ambitious.
We'll still see 30,000+ for Miami. So, while I get why people may not like that $60 number, I understand it. It's in the ballpark of what in-state ACC teams would charge for Miami...I think.
But, I don't get the expansion of the $500 donation-required seats.
A lot of people are going to have to pay $250 more for their season tickets. I'm not sure how that increases demand for them.

Re: 2016 Yosef Seating Stadium Layout
This is the right change at the right time IMO. I'm not into telling people how to spend their money, but consider that the average driver is getting probably a $1,000+/yr break at the gas pump and prices are expected to remain relatively low. A couple is looking at probably $2,000+/yr in savings compared to what they've historically paid. Ultimately, people just have to make the decision if paying a little more to sit in a particular section is worth it to them. The market is the market and the proof is in the pudding. If these changes don't bring the desired results, the market will correct itself and you'll see a different approach next year.

I don't see how you can argue these changes are market driven. Tickets were quite easy to come by this past season. If anything they seem to be made in anticipation (hope?) that that won't be the case this year. I just think they're jumping the gun.asufan87 wrote:This is the right change at the right time IMO. Re: 2016 Yosef Seating Stadium Layout
This move is to get fence sitters and mini-package ticket holders to pony up and join Yosef or buy season tickets. It needed to happen.
We have roughly 2,000 Yosef Club members when we'll have 30,000 plus fans on hand for the Miami game easily. That just doesn't make sense with the amount of school spirit that we have. Our fan base needs some accountability. We can't put it all on the backs of students.

How does it do that? The supply of tickets currently exceeds demand. This includes season tickets. This is not a rhetorical question; I'm seriously asking.Appftw wrote:This move is to get fence sitters and mini-package ticket holders to pony up and join Yosef or buy season tickets.

Re: 2016 Yosef Seating Stadium Layout
I said "the proof is in the pudding." In other words, we'll see. Every market has a "bid" and an "ask". ASU Athletics has announced its asking price. How people respond determines their bid. Is the administration jumping the gun as you say? Maybe, but they'll never know just staying status quo. Someone has to make the first volley. It could turn out to be a big success or a big failure, hence my saying that the market is the market. People are just now receiving the information and will have to make their own decisions based on the perceived value proposition.97grad wrote:I don't see how you can argue these changes are market driven.
