I heard the last 30 minutes of this. Adam has a very good radio voice and seems like he will have a pretty good personality. Apparently David Jackson hired him when he was at app.
Something interesting though. The beat writer from Winston-Salem predicted that Scott Satterfield would leave after the season.

Angel Elderkin was also on there. Didn't hear if they asked her for a health update (I missed the beginning of her segment), but she sounded very good. Hoping she's doing well.

I'll preface it by saying there are a lot of "ifs" to the scenario...But I would be pretty surprised if we were to win 8-9 games and up again this year and Satt didn't land a fairly solid P5 job out of it, granted there's one for the taking. IMO he's proven he knows how to run a program at a relatively high levelboonetown1 wrote:I heard the last 30 minutes of this. Re: DJ and Adam Witten hosting David Glenn Show
Just to clarify before this discussion gains too much steam: I'd take that prediction on Satt with a grain of salt. As they were ending BWN's segment, they asked him something like "what do you think the biggest story you'll cover around App State will be in the next 12 months?" And that was his answer, basically on the rationale that with another good season Satt would potentially be a hot commodity with P5s. Not bad logic, of course. But I don't think it was based on any inside info, thoughts that a particular school would likely be coming after him, etc.

Just to be clear, I just stated it was an interesting comment and something not too far-fetched. Although, it is pretty scary to think about. We will cross that bridge if it happens later on.

Understood - I wasn't being critical. Just adding a little context for those who didn't hear it. I was a little surprised to hear him say that as well - I expect Satt will move on at some point in the next few years but I would guess it's less than 50-50 that he leaves after this year.

I'd take his opinion more seriously if he shaved his terrible mustache.EastHallApp wrote:As they were ending BWN's segment, they asked him something like "what do you think the biggest story you'll cover around App State will be in the next 12 months?" This is unacceptable. I will have this beat writer fired.

What a scoop . . . if a coach has good success, bigger programs will come looking.

It was good to hear Steve Brown's voice back on air with DJ. They were difference-makers on our football broadcasts and they'll be missed. I understand their need to step away. Family first!
