App State Application submitted-twice

Unread post by McLeansvilleAppFan » Fri Sep 16, 2016 6:52 pm

My twin daughters just submitted their applications for Appalachian. :-)

They were on Facetime and hit submit at the same time.

To be honest I am not really worried that either one will be admitted. Getting them to actually enroll is going to be a bit of work. UVa, Davidson and Furman are in consideration as well, and to be honest one of the twins mentioned A&T since they have both agriculture and engineering. If App could come up with some scholarship dollars that could really seal the deal for App (or any college to be honest.)

McL, don't you already have one daughter at App?

My daughter just submitted her application to the University of Florida today. It is her backup if she doesn't get into the University of Chicago or Northeastern.

Good memory!

Yes, Mrs. McL and I (both class of '92) have three daughters. The junior at App and the twins are seniors in high school. One of the twins decided to attend NC School of Science and Math for her junior and senior years of high school and the other stayed back at her home school. Hence the Facetime submission of the application.

Visiting the oldest daughter tomorrow for the game.

McL, congratulations on raising daughters that have reached this milestone. If you have a one looking at engineering I have a thought. ;)

The commute from McLeansville to Harrisburg is a little long.

Sorry. It was sitting on a tee.

I did a summer workshop that involved UNCC engineering. That was 23 years ago but it was impressive then. UNCC would not bother me, though I do have a favorite school I would like for them to attend. :D

In fact, one of the girls told mom that having mom and dad pushing for App is not making her want App more. It must be her small act of rebellion against her parents. She is a good daughter so I will not complain if this is her idea of rebelling against her parents.

I went to HS in Elon and Mcleansville is only 11 miles away, so I know how far it is from there to Charlotte--about 75 years!

Especially with the construction around Concord and Kannapolis.

I did an AP workshop on W&M campus back 15 years ago I guess it was. Nice campus and good academics. Hard to argue against that. They have to find a place that makes them happy and works for them, though it would be nice to have all three of my girls in Boone, if only for selfish reasons.

If she gets in, I'll be one proud dad, but I know how you feel

Just remember, a good hard working student with a positive attitude can get an excellent education no matter which school they attend. However, I don't blame you for wanting them to choose App.
