When I was in school (88-93) the rumor was that the Boone ABC was the highest grossing store in the State. Never saw any proof of that claim, but I certainly heard it all the time. Lord knows I did my best to keep the sales high.

Not sure about Boone ABC but in 1970-75 the Blowing Rock ABC store was the highest grossing in the state....Only one in Watagua County.

This report from the state ABC for FY '14-'15 suggests we're still up there. Possibly the highest. I don't see a single store that grossed more that year, but they don't break down the per-store performance in the larger counties. https://portal.abc.nc.gov/Public%20Web% ...
