Come on 66 --- they haven't even called for her firing yet ---asu66 wrote:Sorry--just growing tired of the thinly-veiled put-downs of KPeacock and the somewhat premature crowning of Queen Everts by a couple of posters. I hope and I believe that history will show that both made very key contributions to Appalachian's academic and athletic programs and growth as a very relevant and desirable IHE.
Geez, don't give anybody any ideas.WVAPPeer wrote:Come on 66 --- they haven't even called for her firing yet ---asu66 wrote:Sorry--just growing tired of the thinly-veiled put-downs of KPeacock and the somewhat premature crowning of Queen Everts by a couple of posters. Who was making put-downs of Chancellor Peacock? Was it on this site?asu66 wrote:Sorry--just growing tired of the thinly-veiled put-downs of KPeacock and the somewhat premature crowning of Queen Everts by a couple of posters. Frankly, I'd love to see the University crack down on them. They've never taken any steps to go official with the school and they're profiting off the brand and likeness of App State.BeauFoster wrote:Appfan allowing comments was the worst thing they could have ever done. It ruined a decent site.
I agree, but a great deal was not about X's and O's.Gonzo wrote:O/U: .5
I'll take the under.
There's a big difference between Xs and Os talk on a reputable message board and endless, anonymous personal attacks about our school, players, and leaders on Appfan.com.
Aside from IGGriers constant anti-Cobbisms, I can't think of a single example that compares with the daily Appfan smut.NewApp wrote:I agree, but a great deal was not about X's and O's.Gonzo wrote:O/U: .5

It seems to me that if you have retired, or been fired you will not be left alone on this board. Just an observation.asu66 wrote:Sorry--just growing tired of the thinly-veiled put-downs of KPeacock and the somewhat premature crowning of Queen Everts by a couple of posters. If a recruit is thinned skinned enough to let a blog decided their future, then it may be better we didn't get them. I just don't think they would have held up.Gonzo wrote:Frankly, I'd love to see the University crack down on them. I feel bad for those guys because they do good work with their blog, but it's their own fault for refusing to moderate their comments section. I wonder how many potential recruits, parents of recruits and students, casual fans, etc have been completely turned off of the school by that endless precession of unchecked nonsense and misinformation.
My best guess is that he is one of the disgruntled people. If that is the case then CC made a good choice passing over someone who takes their problems to a message board. KG is not a coach or an AD who hires them. She should not be message board fodder. Guys like him need to grow up and take your problems to your boss. In other words act like an adult. If he is not someone in the department then he needs to mind his own business as he is not involved.AppGrad78 wrote:The problem of message board users hiding behind anonymous -- and often times multiple -- screen names is not specific to appfans.com, although users of that site certainly have taken it to absurd levels. We have a frequent contributor to this site who has adopted a different moniker on appfans.com so that he could launch a personal attack directed toward Kindsay Greene. (Charlie Cobb recently promoted Greene, who now plays a supervisory role over some less-than-thrilled employees in our athletic department.) Dr. Truth's words: "many think she doesn't have the sense to get in out of the rain." While Ms. Greene's promotion and its impact on morale within the department seems fair game for discussion, it also seems fair that anyone making such a personal attack should have the courage to put their name behind those words, whether it be on this message board or others.
I don't know man. You read those comments lately? If they gave any weight to what they might have read on Appfan they probably think ASU has the most corrupt and inept athletic department in the country.Maddog1956 wrote:If a recruit is thinned skinned enough to let a blog decided their future, then it may be better we didn't get them. For a long time, you could post on Appfan without logging into an account. This led posters to post an opinion, then immediately post under different names in support. Appfan did catch someone doing this when posting on a topic that I was posting about and deleted his posts. People do the same here, but you have to at least log in and out to do so. It's pathetic that people are that insecure that they feel they must like their own posts or the like. What kind of loser takes that kind of time, anyway?AppGrad78 wrote:The problem of message board users hiding behind anonymous -- and often times multiple -- screen names is not specific to appfans.com, although users of that site certainly have taken it to absurd levels.
