South Alabama has improve quite a bit over three years. Texas St. has as well and looks to have a solid class coming in next year.

At this moment, based on this year's squad, I can safely say we'd win over Idaho, Ga Southern and Ga State. The "western" teams in the Sun Belt are gonna be tough to chew on in year one. Looking forward to it though.Saint3333 wrote:South Alabama has improve quite a bit over three years. Texas St. has as well and looks to have a solid class coming in next year.
Add New Mex State as well. Their only win was over "IN FCS TRANSITION FROM D2" Abilene Christian 34-29. They had to tackle the ACU guy at the 3 yard line or else they'd be o-fer.

Abilene Christian??? I don't know a thing about them athletically, but sure am glad they didn't succumb to the PC crowd regarding their name. Just me.

ACU is associated with the Church of Christ. They were twice NAIA national champs. Former Bears WR Johnny Knox is an alumnus of the school.

Thanks. I guess you realize I was referring to name changes like Atlantic Christian to Barton and Elon's mascot change from Fighting Christians to "FeeNicks."hapapp wrote:ACU is associated with the Church of Christ. But, thanks again for the info on ACU's athletic history.

Yep Hap - Abilene had some really good teams back in the day - they beat Elon for one NAIA championship and I do believe they had Wilbert Montgomery who went onto be a Phila Eagles star RB and Clint Longley who played QB for the Cowboys on that team ---hapapp wrote:ACU is associated with the Church of Christ.
