The Unpleasantness Rehashed...
This time in the form of the most biased, factually inaccurate, poorly substantiated, speculative and sensational "article" ever written.
https://www.nsfwcorp.com/dispatch/shut- ... 16d694768/
It's gone viral via the Huffington Post who, true to form, attached and even more libelous headline:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/1 ... 58832.html
The worst part is, the hack writer is actually an alumnus of App State (a product of the worst journalism department in the UNC System).

Re: The Unpleasantness Rehashed...
I guess the only thing that would make these libs happy is if the school would have stoned them
I read all of these writings bashing our handling of the situation but i never really see a solution they offer. None of these writings ever go into detail about how it should have been handled or what should have been done. Last time i checked police were notified and the DA chose not to press charges what more can the school do? The school kicked them out before they were proven guilty in court of law. They were proven guilty in a student court where you don't have to have evidence. These liberal writers always complaining about wanting freedom of speech but yet they don't want to give other basic American rights to others.

Re: The Unpleasantness Rehashed...
Long article about how App is some safe haven for rapists, one small "Oh BTW, the DA said there was not enough evidence to prosecute", much less convict. Balanced journalism at it's best.
I understand it is a sensitive issue and anyone who would commit a rape deserves all the punishment they receive. However, this borders dangerously close to "guilty until proven innocent", implying that anyone who is accused needs to be expelled immediately and in the case of a student-athlete, have everything they've worked their whole lives for taken away.
Look no further than Montana for the other side of the coin. Fired the coach, fired the AD, kick Johnson off the team. A few months later, he goes to trial and is found innocent in a court of law.

Re: The Unpleasantness Rehashed...
Talking about this is more irrelevant that staying in the FCS.
The UNC system is re examining how all its members are to handle sexual assault cases in the future with an eye toward immediate involvement of the appropriate law enforcement officials. This is where it belongs. While the hack Forbes takes a swipe at the low hanging fruit of ASU he would do well to go to UNC, USC, Clemson et al and see what he can dig up there.
As far as Dr. Price, it is clear that she is enamoured with her shock style of teaching and lifestyle.
The hypocritical part of her approach is that she infringes on the very rights she touts as her raison d'etre'. To use her position as a bully pulpit to further her personal views reaks of elitism. I don't mind that she brought the subject and the film into the classroom. I do mind that she didn't give adaquate time for those that might be offended to make a choice. Also the classroom is not the place to condemn the administration or the actions of students. There are other venues to express dissatisfaction and calls to action. I would call for the removal of any professor (liberal or conservative) that uses my tax dollars to further a personal agenda rather than teach how to make informed decision in an objective manner. There are a vocal few in the academic bubble that support her. They just better start looking outside the bubble to see how the rest of the world works.

Where the hell is the University of Southern Florida? It's South Florida. Great fact checking skills.

Re: The Unpleasantness Rehashed...
I am really not as liberal as this is going to sound but here goes. Sexual assault is a problem on all campuses. App State is no exception. Borkowski's you get what you deserve comments epitomize the root of the problem. We live in a male dominated society and our egos believe she really wanted it or as Bokowski suggests don't drink so much next time. If when as males we had to worry about somebody sticking something in us if we had too much to drink it would be different. We would be talking about a crime punishable by death in the streets.
It is stupid of the writer to single out ASU but Borkowski really made us an easy target. Add in the recent events which were handled and this idiot had a low hanging fruit sensationalist story. As for Price we all had a professor like that. I really don't think it is a big deal. I took a marriage and family class as a freshman (don't ask) and the topic of how to give good oral was discussed. Odd but true.

Re: The Unpleasantness Rehashed...
I understand this freedom of the class room and all. But i can't help ask the question if a professor talked down upon gay people, would they have the same freedom of the class? not picking a side here just asking a question. If one can talk down upon athletes is that different than talking down upon gays? I also don't mean to single gay people out it just seams like that would be a case to get a lot of attention too (with all the political things going on).
