No amount of realistic success from App State in the next decade will keep that small group from coming on here with "I told you so's" and talk about "Don't you wish we had stayed FCS where we used to contend for national championships blah blah blah." All the while ignoring the massive new stadium, crowds of 40k, televised games, ect. These are the same people that hold up Marshal as some sort of colossal FBS failure even though they're a mildly successful FBS team with a fan base, budget and stadium that dwarfs that of any small-time FCS peer of their past.

The only reason the Turds have any kind of national brand recognition is because a plane full of them crashed and they made a movie about it. No one outside of WV cares a diddle about them.

I would suspect the HORRID win/loss record would keep any fan base away. But apparently those with rose-colored glasses can't seem to understand that as well.

Just curious Veg, are you going to continue posting all these pictures and negativity on the move? I know where you stand and RESPECT your opinion, however, the constant barrage of pictures of toilets and anti-fbs signatures are beating the dead horse don't you think? I am happy for the move but don't see the need to continually put my opinion on the matter out there. I have supported Appalachian since arriving on campus in 1981 even though I never wanted the 1-aa move to begin with. I want what's BEST for Appalachian, not me. This is what's has been decided and I hope folks will get on board and support it, even if it's not what some wanted.

Appalachian State is moving on from the FCS, will we be a success, NO ONE knows.

The easy path would be to stay at the FCS level and compete with programs with 1/3 the revenue, inferior facilities, and small fanbases. We have chosen a more difficult path.

If our school never took the difficult path we'd still be Watagua Academy. BB and DD would be proud of the progress we have made as a university, this is just another step.

The Sun Belt is leaps and bounds above the Southern Conference in every single quantifiable category imaginable. It has been proven time and time again on this forum and elsewhere. We have an athletic staff full of professionals whose job is to make these decisions as well as possible and they have made it.

Forget about blending in with our conference peers for a moment. This is a huge step forward for our alma mater and no amount of denial from the handful of stubborn curmudgeons who refuse to accept reality will change it.

First of all I was not involved in realignment talk. I was asking if some could ever be satisfied with our competition. Second I was not looking for any credibility with you. Third I have no idea what your problem with " Moving has never been up to me" is, other than you are looking for an argument that is not there. You do that at times and that is ok but there just isn't one here. The way you feel you need to keep selling it, I some times wonder if you realize the decision has been made. BUT as a sign of peace let's say we had an argument and you won.
