With Campbell already scheduled, I'd say our FCS quota is met. I'd like to see Wake, ECU, WKU, MTSU or F_U (south FL recruiting).

I could be wrong, but I don't think we will be seeing many OOC games against SoCon schools for a while.

According to Satterfield when discussing scheduling on Mountaineer Talk a couple of weeks ago, he would like to see us continue to schedule FCS teams that our fans are familiar with like Furman or Western.

I just don't see SoCon fans bases accepting one and done games vs App for 5 or more years. We will schedule MEAC and maybe Big South teams during the first few years.

WCU fans are not happy at the thought of App never playing in Cullowhee again so I think the CATS won't be on the schedule for quite a while.

I don't think the lack of scheduled games will come from App's end.

Really? I know some Socon teams wouldn't want to play us anymore but I figure most would do to the payout they would receive and the old rivalries and the added exposure of playing an FBS team. Just my thoughts.

WCU has a bunch of former App State coaches. They are probably more willing than it may seem. But, I don't personally care to play them for a while. I'd rather see them continue to improve and hopefully compete in the SoCon again.

2 OOC scheduled: at Michigan, Campbell

That is one heck of a road schedule!

They would rather get a $400-$500k payout from an SEC/ACC team than a $200-$300k payout from a Sun Belt team.

I could see us scheduling Samford, ETSU, or Mercer before WCU or Furman going forward.

Looking at the outcome of this years games the Big South would be a tougher test anyways!

While were talking about it, is anyone else getting just a wee bit concerned that we haven't had any OOC announcements for 2014 or beyond? Just about everyone that is moving up has inked a few deals for future games but we have 0 except for Michigan and Campbell next year.

Count me in. I can't remember any recent times that we didn't have at least two or three years ahead with a big OOC game already scheduled.

Getting a little concerned myself. We need a marquee OOC home game. I would have expected to hear something by now, but we all know that information comes out of Boone just slightly more regularly than out of Pyongyang.

Maybe we can get Dennis Rodman to make the schedule. :D

The Eagles don't have to face UL-L or Ark. State the first two years while getting all of the recent move ups.

Would you rather have the "easier" schedule the first two years, or would you rather have the tougher teams which also mean better games in Boone? I'd say take the tougher games with better name teams. It's going to be hard to win no matter what, plus it will help our guys get better by playing the best the Sun Belt has to offer.

Satterfield may disagree though! lol

I agree, I wouldn't have gave a flip if we moved or not if the SoCon would have still had schools with 15-25k students, but what's the potential of recognition playing noname private schools with 2000 students?

We may never get to play in the "title" game (who knows?), but we should get to play in some bowls that someone even has an interest to watch. One thing's for certain about the SB being in the "FCS division of the FBS", the SoCon (and FCS) has even sunk further behind. I guess they could say the "peewee division of the FBS", lol.
Same here. Just get the hell away from having to play more Wofford's.

I agree. It may be tough at first, but once we get our feet under us we'll get the easier schedule. Could be some really good years ahead!
