WCU To Play ETSU At Bristol Motor Speedway A Week After UT/VT

Unread post by HkyMtneer » Thu Jan 28, 2016 8:13 pm

Pretty big news out of Johnson City & Cullowhee this afternoon as the long-rumored WCU at ETSU game, to complete ETSU's back-to-the-SoCon journey, to be played at Bristol Motor Speedway became official. Although we will (obviously) be busy that day, what with the Canes visiting The Rock, it is a pretty cool treat for FCS fans of two local teams to have the chance to see their teams at BMS. Granted, the crowd will be sparse (at best) and possibly quite the let-down after having to follow UT/VT, but nonetheless a neat experience to be had for those staffs, players, & fans. And we know a NASCAR guy like Coach Speir is certainly psyched!

Coach Speir is doing great things in the 'Whee. I hope his success continues. He's definitely one of the good guys.

Western went from 2-10 in '13, to 7-5 in '14, and 7-4 in '15. Getting two pretty much guaranteed losses off the schedule certainly helps but coach Spier has made them a legitimate contender in the league. Congrats to them.
