#5 for Nick Saban ---

"By my count, there have now been 19 national championship teams coached by Mountain State natives. Nineteen.

Many of the titles were shared, especially in the early days. But here is the astounding list:

Fairview's Fielding Yost (who also played tackle at WVU) coached Michigan to six national titles between 1901 and '23; Parkersburg native Greasy Neale's Washington & Jefferson team claimed a piece in 1921 after playing California to a scoreless tie in the Rose Bowl; Point Pleasant's Ben Schwartzwalder led Syracuse to the 1959 title; Everettville's John McKay led USC to four from 1962 to '74; Follansbee's Lou Holtz led Notre Dame over WVU in 1988; Jimbo Fisher from Clarksburg with Florida State in '14 - Saban now has FIVE, one with LSU in 2003 and four (2009, '11, '12 and '16) at Alabama !!!

He has a valid point and there is a tie to one national championship with App State and WVU, Lonnie Galloway was a Split Ends Coach on the 05 NC at App, he played at WVU. Marques Murrell, "little brother" of Adrian Murrell played at WVU. Marques was an outstanding DL on the 05 NC team. Just a thought or two on the ties between the 05 NC and the state of WV.

WV - the state no one actually accomplishes anything in, they move to other locations to do so.
