Re: G5
Extending the playoffs past 4 teams will begin to put a major strain on the bodies of the players. We cant keep asking these young men to play more games. We saw how sore and banged up our guys were after 13 games. They would need to take a regular season game out to compensate. I like the way it is right now. The two best teams are playing, as they did last year.

You do realize that Appalachian played in a 24-team playoff with 22 fewer scholarships for the past three decades, right?ASUTodd wrote:Extending the playoffs past 4 teams will begin to put a major strain on the bodies of the players. There might be some good reasons to refrain from expanding the CFBP, but that isn't one of them.

Actually it is. We don't have that kinda depth and though we might have competed against other FCS/1-aa schools for it, we are nowhere near competing against P5's for it.Gonzo wrote:You do realize that Appalachian played in a 24-team playoff with 22 fewer scholarships for the past three decades, right?ASUTodd wrote:Extending the playoffs past 4 teams will begin to put a major strain on the bodies of the players. With 11-game regular seasons and no conference title games.Gonzo wrote:You do realize that Appalachian played in a 24-team playoff with 22 fewer scholarships for the past three decades, right?ASUTodd wrote:Extending the playoffs past 4 teams will begin to put a major strain on the bodies of the players. The difference is one game - in FCS, two teams played 15 games. At 8 teams, two FBS teams would play 16. Not sure it's a huge difference, but that's the argument.
