Let's just say they had the right idea of which Sun Belt team they wanted to schedule and which they wanted to dodge for a few years.

Good grief. Looks like CUSA picked the wrong team.

Judy could only coddle them for so long. Time to play big boy football.
I wish them well, but would love to have them at the Rock next week.

ODU was pretty much dominated in every aspect of the game last night. The Monarchs had one big play which got them on the scoreboard early, but after that State dictated the game as we expected.

Might want to move this to "other schools athletics"... 73-14 final... I think most realistic UNCC fans knew this was coming. Nobody wins with 7 turnovers either.

I think YesAppCan nailed it. Our fans pretty much thought anything over two wins this year would be gravy. Much of our team are kids that were on the FCS track when we recruited them, and suddenly we got the FBS invitations. We moved up too fast, but you cannot wait until you are ready for these things. JMU may find that out the hard way. We probably needed a couple more years before we went to FBS, and now we will just need a couple of more years in FBS to actually be ready. Until we are though, we need to not have 7 TOs and keep the games respectable. I am not talking moral victories here, I am talking about progression.
This weekend we play FAU, so I am hoping for some gravy. We have Temple, Kentucky, and Marshall coming up and those are going to be ugly. But hey, we have football!

49, I wouldn't worry about the loss, happens to everybody, I was at Alabama last year when they destroyed Texas AM, I think the final score was 66-0, and truthfully, Bama could have scored 80 plus if they wanted. I think you guys are doing fine, the big thing now, is to try and get Charlotte behind you guys for the next two or three years while the program is being built, that's going to be a tough sell when your getting hammered almost every week

This.
I've seen some of our fans saying it didn't really matter if we're getting hammered right now because nobody expected us to win, but I couldn't disagree more. Not winning is one thing, putting an entertaining product on the field is another. Nobody is going to pay good money to see absolute beatdowns where the team looks pathetic.
While defense was our biggest problem against MT, the real biggest problem is the lack of a QB. We NEED a good QB to step up. Even a team with a bad defense can look decent with a good QB. Look at ODU last year. Terrible defense, yet finished a very respectable 6-6 because they had an NFL caliber QB. I really hope turning Riley Ferguson away does not come back to bite us in the ass.
Bad losses happen, I hope our guys pay attention in film this week because there were at least 21 points that were given up because of mental errors. It's one thing to get run over by a team that is more physical and talented than you, it is another to just leave guys uncontested for passes and easy scores. Turning the ball over 7 times is also inexcusable, but that largely goes back to having bad quarterbacks.

You have it in perspective. You made very good points about not being able to turn down FBS offer even though the kinks weren't worked out yet. For you guys sake, I hope your real fans understand this.
