Chattanooga-New Hampshire to go in prime time

Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chattanooga at New Hampshire quarterfinal will have a prime time spotlight when the FCS playoffs resume Friday night.

The matchup between eighth-seeded Chattanooga (10-3) and top-seeded New Hampshire (11-1) will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2. New Hampshire entered the playoffs as the top-ranked team in The Sports Network FCS Top 25.

The other three quarterfinals will be played Saturday, beginning with seventh- seeded Coastal Carolina (12-1) at second-seeded North Dakota State (12-1) at noon ET on ESPN.

That game will be followed by unseeded Sam Houston State (10-4) at sixth-seeded Villanova (11-2) at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN3 and fifth-seeded Illinois State (11-1) at fourth-seeded Eastern Washington (11-2) at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN3.

So how do you get ranked #2 as the three-time defending national champions when your record is actually better than the team ranked above you?

NH had a FBS loss, NDSU had a conf. loss. But they did have a FBS win, but that was Iowa state. ND has played one more game, same amount of losses. NH loss was earlier.

Because its FCS and the voters really have no idea who is best. They just don't have a chance to watch everyone to even begin to make an educated guess.

I have not heard anything on any of the major Sports Network coverage about non-D1 playoffs. I had forgotten they still played those games.
