Wow - and we barely got a mention
North Dakota State revels in another 'GameDay' appearance
Fargo, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - A reported 15 to 20 potential high school football recruits will make unofficial visits to North Dakota State on Saturday.
If they couldn't make it, all they would have to do is turn on their TVs to get a sense of the excitement and passion that surround NDSU football.
ESPN's popular "College GameDay" show will broadcast from downtown Fargo once again at the corner of Broadway and Third Avenue - in front of the Fargo Theatre marquee - to spotlight NDSU's FCS championship program. The show, which stars Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, David Pollack and Samantha Ponder, visited the Missouri Valley Conference school last September while the Bison were on their way to capturing a third straight national title.

It has less to do with their 3 NCs and more to do with their constantly beating FBS programs. They may be the best FCS program of all time...or at least for a four-five year period.

FWIW...Kansas State, Iowa State, Minnesota, & Colorado State are not Florida, LSU, Virginia Tech, or Georgia

Being in Boone wearing the gold and black on Saturdays is enough for me. I don't ESPN Gameday ruining it. Besides, they'd never come here. App State committed a mortal sin in 2007 when we beat Michigan. Could you not see how they reveled in the game two weeks ago?
Besides, Herbstreit would only soil our hallowed grounds. Blank 'em! Go Apps!

This makes zero sense. Gameday would only enhance not "ruin" a Saturday at the rock. And in no way did we "commit a mortal sin" by beating michigan in '07. That's the only way we were on ESPN in the first place. Yeah the more I keep thinking about it the more moronic that post was. On another not Fargo looks like an awesome place and their gameday experience is top notch

Fargo, where winter lasts 6 months. You should take a trip up there in the winter if you think it is awesome. There is a reason their team plays in a dome.

Anyone who would blow off the idea of Boone and APP State hosting ESPN game day for whatever reason is befuddling !!! --- Can you imagine the show our students and fans could have (would have) put on!!! - There are many top tier BCS programs who have not hosted ESPN Gameday and here ND ST has done it twice --- perfect example of SOUR GRAPES ---

Wow, watching it live now and they have a great crowd in Fargo. It is very early on a Saturday morning there too. I love College Game Day and also wish they would have come up to Boone around 2006-2007. I blame Charlie Cobb.
(Just kidding, don't start another split please).

NDSU has the advantage of being the only show in southern Canada. No professional sports teams, no D-1 NCAA teams, just the bison and the Arctic temps.

They are a D-1 NCAA team just like we were. UND is also D-1 in the Big Sky.
Unless you meant no "other" and left a word out as a typo. Sorry to be so pedantic, but I just couldn't let this slide.

Can't bring myself to pull for Marshall but I hope that Cato kid has a great senior year. That story was well done.

FBS*
Now that we're varsity I just don't nitpick anymore.
I knew there were two FCS teams in ND. The Bye-zun and the artist formerly known as the Fighting Sioux.

What would be the point of having Gameday in Boone? All you clowns would do is complain if they came.

They haven't beaten anybody that is considered a winning program other than K-st. And that is a stretch

Yea those are probably more like Sun Belt quality teams than SEC or ACC teams.

Too funny. Clowns and complaining are your specialty.

Another big advantage is that they have a local population to draw fans from. Over 100K in Fargo and over 220K in the surrounding metro area.
