Auburn radio got to do the Call of the century. ..
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Alabama vs Auburn td call...
Thanks for posting. I had not heard that Auburn radio call. That was a play we will never forget.
Since we didn't have an App game to go to yesterday, we still found a reason to go up to Boone. We went up and watched the games at "The Rock" Sports Bar & Grill. They have some great hot wings (Recommend trying the "Kenny" wings) and about 40 TVs. The place went crazy on that Auburn play.
Our youngest son said the only time he remembered a louder reaction to a play was on Sep 1st, 2007 when we were at "The Hickory Tavern" and App State beat Michigan. I thought that place was going to explode. That game gave us another reason to head up to Boone. Seemed like a convoy from Hickory went up watched the whole town of Boone party on that day. Go APPS!!

Read down a few comments for the explanation of the story and the kid.

Announcer on CBS: "Because there are no athletes on the field for Alabama. They got all fat guys." referring to the run-back not being stopped.AppGrad1 wrote:This is a HD video of the play. It shows the last play for Alabama and the events unfolding...

I heard that and replayed that part for my family to hear.
Can't believe he may not get a little flack for that comment in today's world... lol

Re: Alabama vs Auburn td call...
He said the part about no athletes on the field twice, and brought up fat once. He was thinking about what he said since he said it twice. I thought it cute and a harmless to low-harm jab at the linemen sterotype. But I could see some being upset. No one likes being called fat, and I am sure these lineman are also in better shape than I am.AppGrad1 wrote:McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:Announcer on CBS: "Because there are no athletes on the field for Alabama.
