Just caught the end of Carolina Camera and they were filming from the field of Jerry Richardson Stadium. It is good thatvI don't watch much local TV news, not sure I can stomach much more coverage of the 49ers.

How appropriate is it that it was Carolina Camera?
Let them enjoy the attention now, because after the inaugural game, they will be lucky to have their games on page 13D in the Observer and their highlights sandwiched between Wingate and J.C. Smith.

John Carter (APP GRAD) is catching it for having the 49er jersey on. He is a big APP fan, but does have to work.

We sure are letting Charlotte's entry to the world of football get under our skin. Every little thing that involves them seems to set some of our fans off. If we truly think we are bigger and better than they are, we shouldn't be so upset with the attention they are getting.

Just look at NWA's comment in the other 'Giner thread and it should be obvious why they grind my gears. They're not very knowledgable of Appalachian or the FCS in general, yet still look down their noses at us and assume they are above us. Entitled much?

Tisk tisk John... he caught a lame pass and spiked the ball on their field at the end of the show. I think I saw him hock a big one on the turf and say suck it APP STATE RULES!! as the cameras were fading out. How cool would that have been

Another day another thread about the 49ers. This board has more threads about other schools than it does about App.

And there are about as many UNCc posters on this board as there are on NNN.
We thank you for your continued interest in App State.

No kidding. I for one could care less about your little commuter school.

They've already ruined Appfan and now they're starting to really infest the Cabin.

My sentiments exactly. I just don't understand why some on this board seem fixated on them. They're UNCC for crying out loud. No offense to them - congrats to them for finally starting a football program, but let's not act as if they've accomplished anything yet. No doubt, it's aggravating that they have had every chip fall their way in starting their program, while, at the same time, it seems that everything has gone against us during this same period. However, it's embarrassing to see some of our fans care what they are doing and I certainly don't understand some of our fans fascination with scheduling them. There's simply no appeal there at all. I may feel differently 10 years from now but, at this time, in terms of desire to play an opponent, I honestly can't think of an FBS team I would like to schedule less. I just hope Charlie Cobb's request to schedule them in the future was just an inquiry like any other team. If we've exhausted every avenue with scheduling <insert any other FBS teams here>, then fine, give them a call. Until then, can we please drop them as topic of conversation?????

The niners received their first-ever shipment of game balls late last week, so their fans are
really feeling their oats. Let em have their big splash and big party. It's understandable. It'll last 'til their first loss. That time can't be too far away. Then comes the big green letdown/meltdown.

Not seeing the push by us. Not on the stadium, not on scheduling, not much on corporate sponsors, not much at all.
Seems like we are in some sort of quiet period instead of using FBS to our advantages.
Or waiting on a new chancellor to lead the way. Was there any valid truth to Peacock being forced
out somewhat by his decision for us to go FBS? When I read that I dismissed it in my mind, but makes
you wonder with so little going on.
Go ahead, attack me now for asking a legitimate question.

No attack, just a friendly suggestion. Assumptions are dangerous; and you made a lot of 'em in your post. Why don't you let it rest for a few months and see what unfolds. The university will report on progress when it's in our best interest. Fanfest, the first home game and Homecoming are among the best big splash times of the year for football. AppNation is in family vacation mode now. It's, as you suggested, a dead period for getting the masses to focus on something that's a month and a half away.

What's going on? have you not been following recruiting? It is going to take a number of years for us to build some cred as a D1 program far as the rest of this goes. Be patient.
