The A-10 is close to adding Davidson to the league, likely in 2014-15, sources told CBSSports.com. The move is pending approval from the school's board of trustees.

to me it looks like app would have had easier road to so con champioship and possible ncaa game without c of c and davidson in the league...and once you build championships, players and fans want to come to be a part of the fun in boone...or so thats been the case in another sport...

There. Fixed it. Without Davidson and C of C, the SoCon is nothing more than the Big South or the MEAC.

I guess the SoCon commish is drafting a statement about how the conference will be even better off without Davidson basketball.

The SoCon is about to lose its two best football schools and two of its best basketball schools. It's definitely going to be a different place.

PBR is that seriously how you see it? For me that is a defeatist attitude.

I'm glad we are joining a better football, basketball, and baseball conference it should only make us better. Everyone is going to have to work harder to get those wins, but they will be sweeter when they come.

All the little schools and West Carolina left in the are happy as heck that APP and GSU moving up, the SoCon office can now officially make the name change to SmallCon

I know its not what you like or used to but I just know this is going to be something awesome for App State. Just like with any business, we can't be content on where we are and settle for status quo. We have to get out, advertise, grow, become stronger and conquer! Now, go get me a beer!

Maybe we should have moved to the Big South and dominated every sport against schools we have a huge advantage over. Then we could step back and pat ourselves on the back while looking at all the trophies we collected.

Gotcha! Any conference championship, regardless of how bad the competition, is better than no championship. This clears up your anti FBS position.

ASU and GS leaving hurt the conference much more than Davidson.

Oh wow. Are you sure you are not a Western fan? Because I'm pretty sure that's what they were saying about football when AppState and GSU announced they were leaving.

The SoCon is losing its marquee football and basketball schools, and its best all-sports school (AppState). They in trouble... but hey, Western has a better chance at championships now, right
