now that’s a hard pill to swallow after seeing ASU’s storied program kicked to the curb like yesterday’s trash.

...don't get me started...again...(and please don't take my comment as an accusation that it was you that sent me into numerous, passionate rants on the subject of our men's soccer program in 20+ prior years). :(

I think we hung 17 or 18 on them one game back in the ‘70s.

Chuck, you played varsity soccer at App didn't you?

Congrats to Marshall. Great to see a P5 win a Natty!!
The main football recruiting rivalry when at App. Hope we beat them by 50+ every time we play them. With that said, raise my hat to them for winning the Natty.

Man that stings. Should have never cut soccer.

This hurts in so many ways. I hate that we dropped our team and now I hate it that the school I despise most of all just won a natty. I usually really like small schools showing up and doing well/winning it all (rooted for Coastal in baseball, Butler in basketball, etc) but I just can be happy for anything the Turds do. We better beat them in football this year, just can't stand to see them win anything.

Was it on our artificial turf?

Yes. Thompson probably had half of them , we had the original "Greatest Show on Turf".Double digit scoring wasn't unusual if my old memory serves me.We made into Sports Illustrated as I recall.

I agree about cutting soccer but we didn't exactly cut soccer until it was announced we didn't have an actual field or use of one any more. I feel the same way about T&F. In the mean time we are supposed to collectively donate millions to Yosef. I certainly will as soon as we have a soccer field of our own and specific track of our own......or at least an amount according to my income and/or assets.

Let's all put a moratorium on our donations to YC and let's see how many other sports are cut..that's a great idea...

Personally, I wholeheartedly congratulate Marshall for winning the National Championship - when only one team is standing at the end it is a hell of an accomplishment, plus they had to beat the Holes in North Carolina to make it to the Championship game ---

That and T&F. I've been saying all along. And every time I do, I am met with "give more to Yosef" and we can have all as premier sports.

Furthermore, I am told they are in the works. I believe it, but when in Hades is that going to be...not asking for a specific time, but within a decade or two or before I croak. Either/or.

Where did you get that information? It certainly didn't come from any official App State source. It's completely inaccurate. App no longer has an on-campus soccer pitch, but does have its own pitch located within the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex at 574 Brookshire Road near the city limits east of downtown Boone and near the Chevrolet, GMC, Buick & Cadillac dealership (formerly Mack Brown Motors).

In no way was the ASU Men's Soccer Program dropped for the lack of a facility to play/practice in. Where do you think the ASU Women's Soccer Program calls home? The ASU Soccer Stadium seats 1,000 comfortably, has a modern press facility complete with broadband\fiber optic connectivity to stream game videocasts live over AppVision and has a new field house providing locker and dressing facilities for both the ASU Women's team and formerly for the ASU Men's team. The pitch also provides multiple paved parking areas.

The men's program was among a long list of budget cuts activated for insufficient funding
directly or indirectly caused by the 2020-2021 novel Coronavirus Pandemic.

I don’t fully understand, but this SEEMS to be much ado about nothing since you say we already have a soccer field of some sort. So I can quit worrying about when and if we have one at the old Watauga High grounds. All we basically need is a soccer TEAM not a field. Not being sarcastic.

Actually it did if you read between the lines and listened to the speeches and you are at least as good at that as I am.. If the one is located in Ted Mac, even though it is off campus why do we NEED another one?
One of sorts is better than none for the time being. Am I wrong?
