Didn't see this one coming. Wonder if there's something more serious going on than wins and losses.

According to the ODU folks on the C-USA board, he's had some problems with alcohol:

Very sad if true.

After having read some of that stuff, I'd still take him over Capel.

Read between the lines and it becomes pretty obvious...

There is no doubt that when a coach is fired during the season that there is more to it than the record. While BT has had alot of success on the court and in the community, he has clearly been his own worst enemy. He embarrassed himself, the school and the whole program on his coaches show 2 weeks ago. So much so that the school has successfully had the video pulled from the internet claiming copyright reasons. However, you can still get access to any other BT coaches show you want to see. Further, if you were in attendance (and I was) or watched last night's game on TV, BT was clearly in no condition to be there. It's sad, but it had to be done. We now need a shot in the arm...

From reports of ODU fans, Coach Taylor had fallen into alcoholism. A few weeks back he did a radio show slurring words, mispronouncing his players names, and babbling on and on. From what I understand it just was not a healthy situation.
