Interesting, but I'm not sure a football only league with those program is at best a lateral move from the Sun Belt and maybe a step backwards . . .

Great article on the demise of c-usa. But I must say, a resounding NO to his proposal.

I am becoming quite happy in the SunBelt - especially now that nmsu and idaho are gone. True rivalries are starting to form (looking at you stAte and troy) & Benson has improved our TV payouts and with the CCG has laid the foundation for the sbc to take off under his successor.

Next improvement needed, bowl game tie-ins. Need games against P5 Conferences and DURING the true bowl week... not all prior to Christmas.

Lot of unrealistic step and options in there.

Just realign SBC and CUSA between east and west.

I’m fine in the SBC and scheduling these guys in OOC games.

Makes sense for ODU...not for us. I'm not interested. Next!

The solution proposed seems contrived to allow ODU to have the best of both (football and basketball). It's a contrived solution from the standpoint of almost every other team. The joint realignment of the Sunbelt and CUSA to form more geographically logical conferences makes much more sense as it's a total (all sports) solution.

I think this is the writer who now works for ODU, so this article, which was written some time ago, was probably a veiled audition.

I wouldn't be interested in that conference proposed. However, I would be interested in a SBC/CUSA east/west realignment. I've always been a fan of regional conferences. Closer fan bases typically create better rivalries.
