Re: FCS Playoffs
They should rename it the NDSU Invitational.

I'm about 45 minutes from Harrisonburg. Might make the trip to see them play in two weeks. Although we've moved up, I miss the playoffs.

Re: FCS Playoffs
I'm totally glad we are FBS. It has been great (winning seems to help lol). But I'm an old fart and I had 38 years of association with the SoCon, so I enjoyed some of the geographic rivals and friends who were alums of those schools that I had over all those years. Never look back! But wish SoCon and its member schools the best of luck (unless we are playing them in some non football sport. And Furman. hate furple lol).

I don't miss being small time one bit but the playoffs were exciting. Being able to see a few more games was great.

Re: FCS Playoffs
Thought I read here that the SoCon had fallen so far that it was a one-bid league now. Four teams including one with a bye doesn't seem so bad.

Boy. Sure does look exciting.
I have a feeling NDSU finally breaks through and takes it this year

Re: FCS Playoffs
I always enjoyed the playoffs also but just to keep things in perspective, we now play a 12 game regular season vs. an 11 game FCS season and we go to a bow to make it 13. FCS only offers more games to watch IF the team makes it to the third round of the playoffs. There weren't that many seasons when App actually played more than 13.
Getting 4 teams in the playoffs is good for the SoCon. It helps that the playoffs are now 20 teams but I think people calling it a "one bid" conference were exaggerating. I will always pull for the SoCon teams to be successful and I would love to see one of them upset NDSU....but not holding my breath!
I forgot to include that, in 2018 we will have a Conference Championship game, so the total games will be 14....only one less than our championship years.

Re: FCS Playoffs
Good to see the SoCon doing so well. Would love to see one of them win it all, especially the Citdogs; I developed some good friendships with a few of their fans over the years and for a small, military school to win would be awesome. It will be interesting to see if the Bison can do it again too.
