This is no different than the Carr report we had in the late 90's that said exactly what Bork wanted it to say. When people added up the numbers they didn't even support the conclusion given by Carr. I guess it is working for him since he is still in business all these years later.Saint3333 wrote:
Looking at their numbers no wonder the math didn't add up. They project scholarships will go up 65% the next five years and overall coaches salaries up 33%.
Coaches salaries with football 2019 - $8.5M, without $4.8M.
I assume their football coaches all in make around $2M, so they are projecting an additional $2.8M, wow what a bunch of BS.
Oh and good luck with your projections of donations only dropping 15%, especially in the short term.
With assumptions like these any G5 program would be shut down.
Carr was paid to give the BOT what they wanted, scum bags.

Shutting down UAB Football and the several other sports sucks for UAB fans and the players who committed to the program. And, at least from what I have read on here and in articles posted, it sounds politically motivated. One thing I haven't seen mentioned was if UAB would honor the scholarships of the athletes until they graduate (if they don't transfer)? I know scholarships are renewed annually, but the decent thing to do would be to honor those scholarships. I think UNCG did so when they shut down their wrestling program (of course that is a much smaller number than football).

Apparently they gave out marching band scholarships too so one would think that the expense would be high if they were continue to honor those scholarships as well.appbanker wrote:Shutting down UAB Football and the several other sports sucks for UAB fans and the players who committed to the program. Seems the UAB WR coach has joined the Troy staff. I would think both Troy and USA could benefit from the UAB football demise.Appdoggy wrote:I found the ever elusive tall WRs were looking for:
