I agree it is unfair to UAB ---
What has the Alabama football team and staff have to do with the UAB problem - isn't it like a Board of Trustees like the UNC system? ---

Frankly I'm surprised that UNC didn't try to do this to ECU back in the late 90's/early 2000's. I guess they don't care too much about football, but god help any smaller UNC-system school that tries to become a basketball power.

I understand the city of Birmingham wants in the discussion before a final decision is made, they stand to lose $ fans would spend during a home game. They could become very uncooperative when UAB wants special traffic and police arrangements for other activities.

Clark said he accepted a three-year contract "because I was led to believe that we needed to see some success because of past history." If UAB showed an unspecified measure of success, Clark said his understanding was the contract would be extended.

Here we go again. Hey coach " GET IT IN WRITING " Nobody has any understanding after the fact.

I would imagine that all transfers would be exempt of sitting out a year.

Related to Alabama-Birmingham, lots of red ink flowing among other G5 programs. (If there is good news in this report, it is that Sun Belt schools appear to be better off than many of their peers.)

I guess I need a better understanding for what is meant by this deficit. Ours is 12 million. What exactly does that mean. In other words is this a total or before things like yosef and student fees? Just what does it mean?

Looking at their numbers no wonder the math didn't add up. They project scholarships will go up 65% the next five years and overall coaches salaries up 33%.

Coaches salaries with football 2019 - $8.5M, without $4.8M.

I assume their football coaches all in make around $2M, so they are projecting an additional $2.8M, wow what a bunch of BS.

Oh and good luck with your projections of donations only dropping 15%, especially in the short term.

With assumptions like these any G5 program would be shut down.

Carr was paid to give the BOT what they wanted, scum bags.

"The numbers didn't add up." That's the explanation they get for having their team thrown away, that's pathetic . I'm glad someone caught that moment on camera, the last guy to speak said it all. Feel bad for those boys but I'm sure we could take a couple

that UAB president is a joke he deserves all the hate he's getting. Hope it continues to get poured on him. Good for UAB standing up for themselves. Their president is gonna have to be escorted everywhere now and he should be, what a scum he'll never have an ounce of respect there. and he shouldn't.

So how do you deal with a $17 million deficit. We can call the president names but how do you solve the problem. It shows that ours is $12 million how will we deal with it. I see lots of wants and name calling but no solutions. We can continue to ignore the fact that attendance is down in Collage, pro, and even NASCAR but that is not going to make the problem go away.
