The crowd of 30k with three fingers up strikes fear into the hearts of our opponents and is one of our best traditions. The only time the hand should be taken down is if they're banging on the aluminum seat in front of them or cupping their hands around their mouth. Clapping doesn't add much noise.
When I scream and clap at the same time, I'll guarantee you I'm louder than someone screaming and holding up 3 fingers.
Fingets up and voices loud. That's why we have one of (if not the) loudest outdoor sports venues in North Carolina.
