Re: Sun Belt Basketball News
I have a very good sense of humor, just not one of a juvenile. The young man overcame great odds and a lot of pain to play college basketball again. Saddens me to think some App fans are making light of such an inspiring story. If it was early 2005 and Cory Lynch was making his come back from the elbow fracture that kept him out most of 2004 would you guys be making the same type of comments?Gonzo wrote:I pity those who live with little or no sense of humor.Kgfish wrote:Agreed. This post broke my heart.

We would all be wondering if he would crack the starting line up and break up a lot of passes.Kgfish wrote:I have a very good sense of humor, just not one of a juvenile. We are not making light of his story or the pain that he went through, we are just having some off season fun with a thread that didn't have a lot to comment on. He is now about 14 mos past the injury and made his comeback last season and just wasn't ready. If the injury had happened this year, we would hold back more, but in the 9 games he played in 2013-2014 he proved that he was back and just wasn't in basketball shape. We all wish him the best, just not against us. I have been around teams and athletes for a long time and it is long excepted that once we find out that you are ok or after you recover from a injury, that is when the "good natured" ribbing begins. None of the jokes have been off color or attacking him.
And yes when I was working with teams, if someone on the team was returning from a broken leg, before his first game I would say "go out and break a leg, uh, wait no, scratch that." and it would be taken as "welcome back and time to go to work."
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

My mom who happened to be by best friend died from cervical cancer 3 years ago. I also make cancer jokes often. I feel laughter and fun are a good way to spend my life. I pity those that cannot enjoy life and have to take everything so serious. We were trying to be PUNNY. By looking at the responses most here seem to live their lives the same way.
