Why not take CCU instead?
Losing Marshall was masked by adding GSU a couple years before they left. These three adds will maybe keep basketball where it currently is and kill football. The SoCon will be the 4th best FCS conference at best after this.
What's the latest word on Davidson?

Who wants to see the conference we were proud members of so long, fall into manure? I don't. I personally hope they come out even better than in recent years. There IS such a thing as legacy.

MAD Doctor wrote:I'm fine leaving the conference on good terms, but those morons (and commissioners) who espouse that the conference will be as good or better without us, completely disregard our major contributions to the conference for many years. It's sour grapes to the nth degree. Whether we were winning national championships or upending a fifth-ranked FBS team, Coach Moore always gave props to the SoCon. We did MUCH more for the SoCon than they did for us. I especially didn't like how the commissioner disrespected, and basically taunted us when we were not invited by CUSA.
One of my favorite mottos came from the group Boston- "Don't Look Back."
We have done everything we could to make the SoCon as good as possible. It's not up to us to determine where it goes from here. Do you think anyone in the ACC or SEC cares what the SoCon looks like today?JCline0429 wrote:Kgfish wrote:I DON'T CARE!JCline0429 wrote:Kgfish wrote:+1Appsolutely wrote:I have given this a great deal of thought and would like to report that I don't give a fat rat's fanny who goes into or comes out of the SC. Some of us do. I've always lived by the motto, "wherever you go, leave the places better than when you arrived." That was one of my Dad's addages.
In some contexts that's a great policy, but as far as conference realignment goes, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.JCline0429 wrote:Kgfish wrote:I DON'T CARE!JCline0429 wrote:Kgfish wrote:+1Appsolutely wrote:I have given this a great deal of thought and would like to report that I don't give a fat rat's fanny who goes into or comes out of the SC. So they gave us a start. It isn't a one way street. I think it's safe to say ASU has done its part in making the SoCon a FAR better place than it was when we joined. All the moaning and crying over leaving has got to stop. Time to get over it and move on.JCline0429 wrote:Kgfish wrote:I DON'T CARE!JCline0429 wrote:Kgfish wrote:+1Appsolutely wrote:I have given this a great deal of thought and would like to report that I don't give a fat rat's fanny who goes into or comes out of the SC.
