We're actually not that bad with the new QB. Klugh, Phillips, and Ogunjobi are all very good. Phillips and Ogunjobi in particular would play and start for virtually any G5 program and even most non-elite P5 programs. CBS has Ogunjobi projected as a fourth round pick, but if he keeps up the strong play he's shown the last few weeks, he may be able to sneak into the third round. NFL Draft Scout has him ranked the 8th best DT in college football. He's a really good kid with a double major in either bio or pre-med and computer science. Couldn't be happier for him and I will be a fan of any team that drafts him.

We are a mediocre coaching staff away from a three game winning streak. Our coaching staff is just so bad with playcalling and game planning. Any wins we have are in spite of them, not because of them.
Regardless of how good Marsha is this year or any for that matter, you always celebrate a win against Non-Q U!

Phillips and Larry are legit prospects. It's amazing what a competent QB can do for a team, even with mediocre coaching. App fans can look no further than 2009. AE took this team to the semi's against Montana while Satterfield was in Toledo. Had the 49ers had decent QB play last year, you guys probably could've logged 3 more wins. Looks like Kedrick Davis is having a nice season in your secondary.

Unfortunately for App, in 2018 we'll be breaking in a new QB when the Mountaineers visit JR Stadium while Klugh will be a RS Senior. Could spell trouble.

We may not have many similarities, but the hate for Marshall is definitely one. Regardless of how good they are, going there and winning is a good step.

Charlotte is at the stage of their program where beating any FBS team is cause for celebration, let alone a usually successful one like Marshall. That's not meant to be an insult, it's just the reality. We're a little past that point now, but it's only been a couple years since wins over the likes of Georgia State and ULM felt like we'd just won the Super Bowl.

Marshall is bad, but this is a mile-stone win for the 40ers. Congratulations! App fans should have some appreciation for how GREAT it feels to be the Thundering Herd!

You're causing me to have a bit of a friendly frown on those two selections--and most especially with regard to Ga State. To date, the Panthers are 19-58 all time in football with an all-time WP of .247 rounded up. Not very scary, but that's just me. ;)
Proud triple-degree App grad--Classes of '66, '70 and '81.

Yeah, but remember where we were the first time we played them? Two weeks removed from losing to Liberty (right after the USA debacle). That was a huge win at the time, especially considering the margin.

I agree with you 66. I am still waiting on a Super Bowl win. TN was the closest to being one IMO. Had we not mishandled our options the win we should have had at So Miss would have been sweet for us as a transitional FBS team. In the end, App and UNCC are in the same state. That's about where the comparison ends when it comes to football.

We hung 55 on Troy at Troy before we played the Panthers.

I remember. Another win over a horrible team that we were absolutely thrilled to get at the time.

BTW, you guys are taking this awfully literally.

Maybe, but realistically there are no meaningful comparisons between App's and UNCC's football programs.

We can make one meaningful comparison. Both programs are new to the College Football Playoff era of FBS.
